So what Plan are we on to now?

A few months back I took a call from a member of this forum regarding a player we were in for.. It wasn't common knowledge then but the player has since joined another side.
The calibre of the player slightly worried me if I'm honest.

Then the Tom Ince affair began... We all know how that panned out.
But things all of a sudden have changed,Steven Caulker,Etienne Capoue and Gary Medel are all a level above previously linked players.

So was Malky targeting players on a limited budget?
Has Tan Pulled him aside and told him to aim higher?
Either way something has happened because Caulker alone is head and shoulders above the player I was told we were in for all that time ago...

The player at the top of the thread was Curtis Davies.

I would have thought its all down to Malky and his team.....VT puts up the financial backing for sure, but as far as aiming higher I don't think VT has a Scoobie Doobie doo about football players.
