Have we got a wage limit ?

Sun Aug 11, 2013 3:30 pm

Interesting that nobody has really talked about what our new players are getting paid to come here !
Not that I'm complaining :D

I can't remember seeing a quote or even a guess at what type of wages we are now paying our top stars .
I'm pretty certain to get a player of medel and caulker a quality we must be around the 40/50k a week mark which is another huge step up for the club .

Medel was on 42k p/w at Sevilla. I'm guessing at least 50+k p/w now..

Doesn't matter.

We spend and stay up we can stabilise. We spend and we go down we are screwed anyway as Tan is still currently keeping us afloat.

The gamble is Tan's. If we go down either way we'll either continue depending on Tan or go bust whether we spend or not.

Tan obviously realises this which is why he is investing and trying to make sure it don't happen.

The claim that promotion money could be used to settle the debt is a myth. Too much debt and the payment scheme don't work to suit your outgoings so we'd be screwed.

We have to stay up a few seasons at least to sort it out and the only way to do that is by bringing in quality and making sure we stay up. Tan is buying young players who will stick around or have resale value.

Next season we either keep our players and spend less which allows more to be used for other outgoings or we sell on at profit, buy at a percentage of that profit and use the rest wisely elsewhere.

Debt to this degree isn't simple maths. It's very complicated because of all the legalities and formalities.

Mind boggling really, just the way it is though. I'm on £25000 as well, but in a YEAR not a week.

Even those these figures are high if you look at the big picture we will sign 6 or 7 players on high wages where as other clubs sign 12 13 players on half the wages eg palace hull so aren't we in same situation?I know which team have the more realistic team of staying up!!Think our starting 11 is probably a top 12 team so hoping keys players stay fit!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Cornelius, Brayford and Moore won't be on to much imo.
