That's better Whitts

Sat Aug 10, 2013 4:28 pm

Today we saw Peter Whittingham play like he used to. Ok not totally at his best but his performance today brings hope that he is getting back to level that we know he can play.

An excellent well taken goal, some good challenges/ passes and actually seeing him squaring up to an AB player who went in too hard on him.

Overall a good performance from the whole team but PW getting back on track :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old:

Good to hear, I hope I am proven wrong and Whitts shines in the Prem and consistently does this
Not being negative, but I am not convinced, but tats just my opinion. I am prob in the minority.

With Medel coming in he wont have to play so deep and the time and space Whitts will have on the ball will give him more opportunities too use his educated left foot :ayatollah:

With the way last season ended I think many of us can understand why you have that opinion. There's nothing better than when a player can prove you wrong, and hopefully that happens this season if he's allowed to play in a more advanced role considering the signing we've just made.

Agree. Peter Whittingham is back on track and I think todays performance could well earn him a starting place in the West Ham game.

Wow, who cares?! Why have people always fussed over this aspect of his game? Not very important, is it? He's not Lee Cattermole!

It was great to see Whittingham further forward than last season and even put in a few decent tackles. :ayatollah:

The Medel signing will be great for Whitts. He's openly said he doesn't like playing that position, it's more quarterback than centre midfield

Re: That's better Whitts

I fear Whitts will disappear into his shell this season.

Yep, looked his old self again. Cracking goal.

The Medel signing will help Whittingham push further up the pitch

I though that until his well taken goal he looked lazy!

I believe that Malky has a team in mind and that Whitts will AGAIN be a key player for us this season.Goal today was superb and passing generally excellent.

Doesn't have any fire in his belly anymore. IF Montero and/or de Jong are added then he wouldn't even be in my starting 11. He would sulk as a bench player so I would move him on

I disagree, Whitts could have left CCFC for the PL a couple of seasons back but stayed with it. He wants to take his chance -no mistake.Don't underestimate his skill and determination.

Couple of seasons ago he was a different player. For the second half of the season just gone he was shocking. Just don't think he is good enough to be in our starting 11.

Unfortunately yes,it's him.
Medel's signing must have pissed him off no end.
Faggot was positively spewing when Caulker came on board and how it hurt him the night CCFC were promoted!
