why have?

Fri Aug 09, 2013 6:57 pm

Hull people excepting their re brand better than we are? Listening to radio today the supporters club, x managers and x players accept the change because owners putting the money in, ! They just say will still call team city while not objecting to name change!
Is their re brand worse or equal to ours?
Presumably not all fans happy just saying what was said on radio.

It is a tax dodge by the Owners, as Hull pay a rental to the Kingston Comms Stadium which is owned by the Rugby League Club. They are re-branding to offset the missed payments in rent,to their tax bill. Not fair, but is legal. Basically they start with nothing to pay in tax as their articles allow such activity. :|

They don't have any debt like we had

Their rebrand is worse. Allowing a nickname to become part of the official name should never happen. The name is the identity, the nickname is brand promotion.

Our rebrand is far worse. They still have their traditional colours. Give me the name Cardiff bluebirds and a blue kit any day over what we currently have.

So you want the name Cardiff Bluebirds over Cardiff City, very strange, saying that I did see that BU the other day were calling us the Cardiff City bluebirds, perhaps thats where this name came from.

urphy

I'm a staunch blue and modern football/tv fan/sky money disliker.
But I think you are wrong.

Who won the FA Cup in 27 -Cardiff City
Who beat Real Madrid -Cardiff City
Who were FA runners up to Portsmouth - Cardiff City
Who were League Cup runners up to Liverpool -Cardiff City.

What none of those games have in common is the Badge or
Colour/style/tone of kit.

The only thing any records will have is that Cardiff City were there.

The name is everything
Followed by colour
Followed by badge
Followed by stadium
Followed by stadium end.

I loathe the rebrand and will never be a red but to say that changing your name is
A lesser crime, then I beg to differ.

An article a few weeks back clearly shows how common and often teams change badges
Kits change all the time. Admitedly its away kits but for eg England
Have 'rebranded' several times in last 5 to 1+ years with their country colours

If we step back and see it
Yes the red is fukin embarrasing and a kick in the gut and the badge
A kick in the face. But a name change is changing history.
