Is the Man City Celebration/Protest a step too far?

Fri Aug 09, 2013 5:05 pm

I will be wearing a Blue Retro shirt to every Cardiff city match this season. I will not buy anything from the club shop with the new badge on it, no matter what colour it is. I will sing all the traditional Cardiff City songs, same as every other season. I think that's far enough to send a message to VT and the rest of the world that we want Blue back at home.

However I think the Man City March is a step too far.

Without debating the issue, because we all know each others views on the rebrand. Just post agree, disagree or unsure.

If they conduct themselves with dignity and in a professional manner then no it's not a step too far.

I would say over hauling a clubs kit and badge is far worse in the 'step too far' stakes. :ayatollah:

Yeah but you haven't spent millions of pounds for the choice.

In relation to the op I agree, and for the record I would love us to be playing in blue but I do own a red shirt.

It probably is a step too far but Browny is adamant to make a point.

Going to be hilarious when Tan threatens to walk and everyone is running around in circles begging for him to stay again. All he has to do is threaten to go, pull the plug and let the club implode and everyone will be back on their knees begging for him to stay. That alone proves how good we have it.

People need to realise, nobody wants the rebrand, but considering how much we have got out of it we should just shut up and put up. Name me another owner who has taken a Championship team in massive debt and done for them what Tan has for us? Ignore the rebrand for a second but all of the good things, name another owner who has done that........

I'd rather us be blue with the very basic bluebird badge in the circle like the old shirt and its nice and easy for kit makers to produce as well but its not going to happen so i'm not going to pretend it is and live in a world of delusion.

When Bluebirds Unite march, Tan will take note. Tan will see it reported in the media and he'll then make his move and he's a trained veteran in the business world and working the media, theres not a chance he will be beaten at his own game. Be careful what you wish for because when you piss off a business tycoon and the sweet aroma of the room turns to a bitter ambience that is when you see their true side and if you think Tan would leave us in good hands after showing him disrespect then you're having a laugh. He'd show us the same discontent fans have shown him.

Neither has Tan who has loaned the club money

I wish people would stop saying "Nobody wants the rebrand" thats bollocks. Theres plenty
on this board alone absolutely revelling in it and the forum represents a tiny percentage of fans.

Anyway, pointless thread the OP said everyones given their views its just one more rebrand thread to troll and derail.

No! People who think this protest will affect the players are deluded. Most of the players will have no idea there's a protest going on. As for tan, it will piss him off but all he has to do it put us back in blue. Not much to ask for!

I agree the media (Sky) will focus on the re-brand more than are football performances which would lead to bad press that the club doesn't need. As much I want to return to the colour blue it merely wont happen; especially, under Tan, because if we return to our beloved blue his/the clubs image will look poor and shambolic.

In all fairness Sian is doing all she can in the BU to address the idiots and make sure no-one ruins it so hopefully it will all be in good fashion and nothing negative. :ayatollah:
