Selhurst Park renamed

Palace fans claim to be AMF yet allow a name change of their historic football ground.

What's it called now?

Knew it would happen and more rebrands and complete rebrands will happen in the future, some worse than our own. We should be thankful for what we have and not be moaning. Championship clubs are going to be snapped up more and more so owners can have a stab at achieving premier league football. Buying a premier league club is more of a risk and more often carries more debt than those lower down. Also fans of lower league clubs will be more likely to accept a rebrand for a shot at the big time, hence why Tan bought us and not a club like Everton who've been looking for a buyer for years.

Feck me, that's wank!

As for the OP, it's hardly a rebrand.

Didn't say it was a re-brand of any sort. Just Palace fans claim to be above everyone else, high and almighty. A club for fans etc yet they've renamed a historic ground. Been in administration twice.

Dear dear. Hardly a rebrand is it. Sponsorship of stadiums as been going on for years and to be honest with you if he renamed the stadium not many would care, even the BU. The city of Cardiff stadium is hardly a historic name.

Stop moving the goalposts to try and justify what Tan has done. Until another club changes their colours it's not comparable.

What's AMF?

Re: Selhurst Park renamed

Well we've got it all to come!

Probably end up calling the stadium "Dragon's Den" with a new pub open on the grounds - "the skirt and penis"

I dread to think what they will name CSS in the future

AMF is against modern football, to me it's been happening stage by stage and is inevitable, to be honest things like KEN THORNE cars over the shirts was more of a rebrand to me than a change of colour, but that is just my opinion and we all have different things that rattle our cage.

I didn't like seeing adverts all over shirts, but if the club get's revenue from it and it helps us survive, then so be it.

A lot of people moaning about modern football would have more to moan about if it cost a hundred quid to see a game because the advertising stream weren't there.

Fans want to see their team competing and hopefully doing well and succeeding, to do this you need the best players, the best players cost the most money, if it don't come from sponsorship, advertising or rich benefactors then we have to pay, or put up with relegation and low level football.

And there's plenty of local clubs out there can give you that fix if it turns you on. :old:

Oh yeah, silly me. The thing is they can rename a stadium what they like, the fans will still call it selhurst park. If the club get a few quid for a "title" carry on, the people who matter will use whatever name they like or are used to. St James park wasn't the sport's direct arena for long was it?

They claim to be AMF when their fans are the ultimate modern football fans, all their bullshit Ultras bollocks is half of the problem, you rarely hear a proper British atmosphere these days, they can't make their own atmosphere so they copy the Italians, Germans and Polish, pathetic if you ask me. Rant over. :D
