Shall we just ''settle'' for players we know we can get?

Thu Aug 08, 2013 5:27 am

The answer is NO.

Malky Mackay is trying to attract Top Half type footballers because thats where we
want to be battling it out. Gutted about Capoue i am. But Mackay Will Get His Players!!
Cardiff are new to the Premiership, we are struggling to get the quality in. But never
settle for second best. The very second Malky drops his standards is the very second we
really do become relegation dogfighters. Stick with it gaffer!! IMWT :malky: :malky:

Got to agree I'm gutted with Capoue going to Spurs, but then that is an area for them which is over packed. Would love us to go in for huddlstone or even parker. I don't see that as dropping Malky's standards either.

This^^^^ Rather we go in for one or two spurs players than anyone from QPR.

The supporters on messageboards bear no resemblance to the City fans i grew up with. Though
I think this board is now officially ruined by trolling. But if we had signed eight players by now
the same old moaning wankers would have dissected every signing by now and we would STILL
be having them say we are going to struggle to stay up. We used to have players like Leo who
could not trap a dead mouse if it was already in the trap but he was loved by the fans. Purely
because he was comedy gold at times. Maybe its the internet? Football Manager games? a new
generation of spoilt bastards. When you think about it, we had fuckers moaning right up until
we clinched promotion last season and THEN still had wankers saying we'd Scraped Through.
I blame the parents

Unfortunately we're looked at as strong relegation candidates by most of the better players we have been linked with, Malky must be totally frustrated with it but he will stick with his plan I'm sure and we'll start seeing a few good additions very shortly.

IMO Malky is doing the right thing by going after players who will take us to another level. Ok not every one of these better players will want to come to an unproven premier league club but when signings like Caulker come off then it raises the quality of the squad and proves to prospective signings and fans that we are ambitious and won't just settle for a relegation dogfight.

Malky is proving to be a class act in everything he does and we as fans need to remember that when results go against us in our first year. If we keep hold of him I'm sure we can build a strong Premier League Club for years to come.

Well I would rather he settle for players we should be able to convince like Huddlestone than settle for the players we have already got.

Its not beginning of July anymore.

Leo was loved cause when we needed players to stand up and be counted he was THE MAN,remember that we limped over the line that season and hi's performance at York was immense, when other so called stars ie Andy Legg were going missing he stood up to be counted and got us the point we needed with as gutsy a performance as you would ever see,he bullied the York defense that day yet there were fans in the crowd that day gutted that he got a hatrick.maybe you were there?

Leave it there Leggy stood up to be counted far more than Leo ever did.

Leo was a primadonna, never bothered with any of the players off the field, and wasnt very well liked by the playing squad.

He was only liked by the fans because he was a bit of a joke figure, much like Eddie Johnson.

Sorry but we limped over the line that season cause our more gifted players could'nt get the job done,we conceded three at York the day we won promotion, and our results in the run in were poor to say the least. As for primaddona i bow to you greater insider knowledge of the goings on at CCFC.Finally you'll get no argument from me re Leo's footballing ability even hi's greatest fans would have to admit he was limited, but over the years City fans have made hero's of players who were limited in ability, cant see why Leo is treated differently.

Leo only got 12 goals that season and he was signed to get us up so you why should he be cut more slack than someone like Paul Brayson, or Matt Brazier, etc?

Each to their own I would much prefer a player with abiluty over some guy who runs around like a headless chicken just to please the fans.

Thats why some of my favourite CCFC footballers over the years include Whitts, Jason Bowen, Jay Bothroyd.

Each to their own

To be honest, it's better for Malky to chase realistic targets at this phase of Cardiff's foray into the premiership. It's important to learn to walk at this level before you can run. We didn't spend big up until what happened this close season and yet still managed success. It's all about the right characters who will dig in not the big money signings, they will happen in the future.
