Updated Sept 8th 2014

An update on Mason.

Mason was contacted by the club last week and has been asked to come over to City in late October/early November for his trial.

Mason broke his arm earlier this year when a trial was on the cards and at the end of the season weren't fit enough so the trial was put off until the new season started, he has been offered the opportunity to show his worth in Oct/Nov.

Good luck Mason

Can't knock Malky's vision for the future, However we do need players for the present (the signings made already have been fantastic), to survive and give these youngsters the oppurtunity to play in the "best league in the world" when they are ready.

Thought his parents put the kybosh on it ?

But looks like a good move if we can persuade him to do a trial here in September.

Thanks for the update chaps!

I love how Cardiff are prioritising youth now. I think I get more excitement seeing a player come from the development squad over a big name signing. Especially if they are Welsh.

Annis introduced me to Mason and his family in Majorca recently and the kid is very down to earth as well which is always a plus in my book :ayatollah:

The fact that so much of Malky's energy goes into the long term shows the man's class. He has no guarentee that he will be around to reap the rewards from these long term choices but he does it for the good of CCFC. Hopefully he will still be around when these kids turn out to be World beaters.

Malky fist pump coming up... :malky:

Sounds like you boys are brokering the deal. Don't you go for holidays out there? More importantly is that why our agents costs have gone up lately.

We do holiday but the people you bump into is unreal, we met Bobby Campbell and had a great time talking about his Liverpool playing days under Shankly, his friendship and business relationship with Roman Abramhovic.

Top bloke who thought highly of Cardiff City Fans :ayatollah: and our life president :D

I can't imagine the stories he would have. Back in those days football was so extreme. I know a guy who used to play pro in that era and he always tells me the same story about a fixed FA cup final! I don't know if it's true but the way this guy tells the story makes it worth it. I've heard him tell it ten times but it still amazes me.

How about you scouts go on holiday to, I don't know, Brazil or Argentina next?

He could have an advantage if he has been educated to play the Spanish way then gets more guidance from British development. I don't want to put too much pressure on the lad, but best of luck to him.

Well done to CCFC for broadening our horizons. :ayatollah:
