Greatest Cardiff City Manager??

Malky Mackay's achievements in guiding Cardiff City to the Premier League for the first time in their history have already seen him considered among the best managers in the club's history. But is he the best of the bunch? Sky Sports has narrowed it down to some leading candidates, including Jimmy Scoular and Fred Stewart, and now we want your vote. Have your say and we will announce the winner in the week commencing 12th August.

Malky Mackay (2011-Present)

.

A League Cup final defeat and losing in the Championship play-off final suggested Mackay could have been set for a career of 'good but not good enough' when in charge of Cardiff. But last season's title-winning success secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club's history and they are now anticipating a campaign to remember in England's top flight.

Fred Stewart (1911-1933)

Stewart is the longest-serving manager in Cardiff's history and famously was in charge when they won their first and only FA Cup to date in 1927. Stewart had earlier led the club a runners-up position in Division One having also overseen their promotion from Division Two. Cardiff won the Charity Shield after lifting the FA Cup. They also won five Welsh Cups under Stewart.

Jimmy Scoular (1964-1973)

In his more than nine years in charge, Seven Welsh Cup wins, including five in a row between 1967 and 1971, meant Cardiff were making regular appearances in the Cup Winners' Cup under Scoular. And the Welsh club enjoyed one of their finest hours in making it to the semi-finals of the competition in 1968 only to lose to Hamburg. Unfortunately, Scoular could not replicate that success in the league.

That would be close, loved Burrows and May.

Jones would come after Durban - and that is saying some thing!

Yer I must say Jimmy Scoular was truly a great Manager, but all his achievements were in the old second division .
Would he have been as good in the very top ,? we will never know, but Malky was good in the championship getting us up as champions ,so lets see if he can keep us in the prem ,to soon to hand it to Malky yet. :malky:

Based on that it's hard to argue against Stewart!

In my lifetime though Malky is certainly the best :malky:

Wasn't around during scoular and Stewart's reigns, but seeing as Malkys on had to seasons here its not comparable, if malky were to build what he's already achieved for say at least the 9 years Scoular spent then he could definitely be the best we've had
