We were rumoured to be interested in signing him but Fenerbache were favourites for his signature.
Well he is back on the market and wants to leave. Got to be worth a bid surely.

Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo has confirmed he plans to leave the club following interest from abroad.

The Paraguay international's prolific record for the Portuguese giants has attracted interest from a variety of clubs, including Cardiff City, Spartak Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg.

Spartak have denied making an €18m bid for the 30-year-old, who scored 26 times for Benfica last season, while Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has admitted to being an admirer of Cardozo's talents.

Talks over a move to Fenerbahce fell through, but the player is adamant that his future lies away from the Est?o da Luz.

"I thank the fans for always being with me," Cardozo told A Bola.

"But, after everything that has happened, it will be very hard to find motivation to continue. My head is far away from Benfica."

hes a quality player but it really seems that its his agent playing more mind games and fishing around(which he is payed to do admitedly)
Even if we had a bid accepted i think it would be another transfer which would drag on for weeks and cause more harm than good

According to 'A Bola', he wants 3m euros a year, after taxes. That's why the deal with Fenerbache fell through.

Thats approx 50k a week in real money.
