Tim Vickery one of the my favourite journalists in football and an expert on South American football. This is what he blogged about Montero recently. Number 3

Are we in for him Tony? Sounds like a top quality winger!

I believe so mate. Hopefully we can tie it up quickly

Presumably there is a chance of some less illustrious journos at the WM and E getting some copy from this guy?
His you tube hat-trick was stunning.

We need to pull our finger out then-but fair play, the biggest amazement to me so far has been Malky and his team.Astute is the word that comes to mind. :malky:

We've made some really positive signings and will make a few more. Disappointing we've missed out on a few but that's due to us being the new team. I'd like to look at the bigger picture and realise if we can bring in the standard of Caulker and Andreas Cornelius at the first time of asking, then imagine who we'll be able to convince after a season or two up there

Thats exactly the point - great point . Also important to ask question "What can cardiff achieve " ? First couple of seasons stability but maybe a sneaky cup final win ?

Have to also agree there, it is totally understandable if big talent reject us. Who would want to run the risk of having a relegation on their CV? I don't see us going down but that is the way we are viewed by european players. Malky will prove them all wrong :malky:

Vickery is an excellent journo and has done a lot to put my fears to bed. I hope this lad signs and reaches his obvious potential then we could have an absolute gem on our hands

surely the time to praise the manager and his scouting team is when a few of these players come in and they perform for us. At the moment we are being linked with a few overseas players, but have only signed one.

fair play for our ambition, just need to see a few of these players come to us.

The site has become more of a sounding board
for the BU than anything else sadly.
Montero would be a fantastic player, especially under Malkey.

The good start Morelia tournament player makes Europe different clubs maintain their interest in signing him.

The great performances that Jefferson Montero has had with Monarcas Morelia in this boot are positioning the Ecuadorian championship on different computers on the Old Continent, specifically in the Premier League. then the supposed interest of teams like Wigan, Everton, Swansea and Hull City, now the new buzz around the 'Turbine' is the Cardiff City of Wales team that will participate this season in the Premier League in England. According to Ecuadorian media, specifically the "Voices of Football" Sports Radio Area Quito, the representative of Montero, Diego Herrera, maintains contacts with the directors of Cardiff for the footballer of Monarchs return to Europe. According to journalist Fernando Baird, interest could intensify soon, considering the transfer market in Europe still has some weeks to make some modifications. Ecuadorian footballer has made clear during repeated performances interest in joining a team of the Old Continent after passing through some Spanish paintings like Villarreal and Betis.

This post has got way more views than the thread you mentioned,as usual the march thread has degenerated into abuse and name calling as is the norm. You get the same small number of posters posting about the same thing time and time again, believe it or not as the views of this thread has shown, is that, fans are much more intersted in football matters

Credit to MM for Cornelius and Caulker. He got knocked down by some big targets but still pulled in one or two. :ayatollah:

Totally agree. :ayatollah:

This is why there should be a seperate section for all things rebrand and BU and let the posters solely interested in football matters get on with it.

Must adnit i'd never heard of him until yesterday but he does sound like a decent player. Goes to show our scouting network is pretty advanced if we're looking at the Mexican league!

Tweeted Terry Phillips in respect of this, his reply was that there may be a little weight in these rumours but any deal is a long way off at the mo.... Obviously not gospel however may be an indicator.
