Sniffer Dogs at Footie

Took in the Bournemouth v Charlton game on weekend, great atmosphere, I think Bournemouth may surprise a few sides this season !

After the match, I was prevented from taking my easiest exit back to my brothers home by the Charlton fans getting a bit lairy (coppers words not mine).

As I hung around I noticed the police sniffer dogs (Spaniels) mingling in with the Charlton fans, never noticed this at the City, is this common now at away games or going to be new this season ?

nothing to do with the footie, theres a load of travellers hanging around in bournemouth looking to set up camp somewhere, and kings park where bournemouths ground is is one of their preferred sites for setting up (i know as ive just finished my placement year at uni at bournemouth borough council)

at the travel meeting last week we had a discussion about the use of flares/smoke bombs. it was mentioned that 1 of the options is to have random dog searches to catch anyone trying to bring them in to the C.C.S (also could be used away)
this will mean that not only the smoke bombs/flares could be found but they also trained to find other things

They have done it a few times in Cardiff, once or twice at Ninian and I think once in the new gound

thats right mate, so if any1 is aware of any1 trying to get smoke bombs/flares in to grounds (home n away) have a word with them as there will be alot of pissed off people if the dogs are brought in

Sniffer dogs to suss out invading gypos ha ha ha. Cheered me right up. Them sniffer dogs would be confused down the Liberty. They would be jumping up on most of them.

I saw recently saw two police sniffer spaniels in queen street on the entrance to virgin. shit myself and i wasn't even carry anything.
