been to 3 out of the 4 friendlies with my father so far and i got to say im disapointed in cardiff citys parking policy - my father cant walk far and needs to get as close to the stadiums as possible - he has a disabled badge for his car ...... but we were still charged £5 to park - personally i think thats disgusting ..... if he could walk far then we would walk to the stadium like we used to ... plus its a friendly and received great treatment at forest green and cheltenham must i point out - so thanks to them clubs

Have you brought this up with the club?

While it's easy to complain to a board about your issues, which seem like a kick in the teeth, perhaps it would be beneficial if you actually talked about them with someone at the club.

Just my 2 cents.

Am I right in thinking you were inspecting free parking? Don't see how having someone disabled entitles you to free parking. I apologies if I have the wrong end of the stick.

As far as I know they have never had free disabled parking.

I have tried on numerous occasions to get my parking space move from behind the Ninian stand to the front of the stadium so my father doesn't have to walk so far with his stick but there is never space. All disabled parking spaces are used.

The club do their best. I am allowed to drop him behind the Keenor Statue and then go and park.

If every person who had a disabled badge had free parking at the stadium hundreds of their able bodied passengers would get a lift to the ground, free parking and would not have to walk.
Maybe the passengers should pay the parking fee for the disabled driver!

There is no free disabled parking plus all disabled spacess are taken !

You can apply for a standard space which will cost £149 and most probably be in zone A but I wouldn't be surprised if they had sold out for the season.

I hope this helps.

obv same applies to friendlys ? and btw i didnt want a lift i had to help him into the ground ... would prefer to walk through the ninian gates but obv that was not an option for that game - forrest green rovers put us in the players car park as there were no disabled parking spaces left and put us in seats right by the lift - so i do have to say a thank you to that club

I suppose another problem is that everyone seems to have disabled badges these days, we all know people who use disabled badges who are not disabled. its disgusting. People have disabled badges who can run faster than me

If I'm parked next to someone with a disabled badge and i have to pay and he doesnt, can anyone
explain why? At the end of the day a parking space is being taken up and there may well have been
three able bodied passengers in the car as well? Dont get me wrong, I believe if there are disabled
parking spaces they should be as close to amenities as possible to make access/egress easier.

All disabled/and or blue badge holders have to pay at City either per game or through a season ticket, there are no blue badge concessions. Also Blue badge holders have to pay in car parks in most of the country, Cardiff/ port talbot, swansea, newport all charge

They are close to amenities but sold . However if you are driving the disabled person there is nothing stopping you getting convenient access to drop off and pick up by arranging with the Club. To expect private companies to provide free parking spaces for the disabled is unfair. Why should the other occupants be privy to the benefit. As far as I can see our club are tops for disabled provisions most are driven to the ground and access will never be a problem. Those that drive themselves can apply for their own space. I agree with your post and I think the blame game by anyone is unfair.

I have a disability but don't mind paying. At the end of the day this is just the way we were born or hand we were dealt so its nobody else's fault. People with disabilities like myself, most I meet, would rather be treated as equals so surely being given preferential treatment only further adds to the division? I'm more than happy to pay.

In Cardiff City centre you've got, well they look like golf buggys to ferry the elderly and disabled around the city centre.Maybe the club could do something like this on match days.
