This is what happened to me on Thursday evening.
Went to the local shop to buy a few things to cook our (live with dad as he has cancer and dementia and my mum died on xmas day of cancer) evening meal, it's an ok shop for for basics, ie, toothpaste, milk, bread and that like which is fine as anything else then I go to the butchers, supermarket as it's quality food and less expensive.
I was in the shop and it does get busy evenings as we're situated out in the valleys and live in a community with 2,000 odd residents.
I was on my new phone, Samsung Galaxy s4 mega (upgraded on Saturday) and was playing with it while shopping, got to the check in and put it to one side while I paid my bill, put the card back in my wallet and went home, my house is literary 40 second walk from the shop, when I was indoors then realized my phone was missing, went back and asked and no one had seen it, I said check the CCTV now and look for the person that was after me as they will have it.
Ran home and phoned my phone 3 times, nothing, just ringing then answer phone. Ran back to the shop and was told we have the suspect on CCTV taking your phone, suspect? Like the Muslim bloke who beheaded a soldier on national TV, suspect. What the f**k, they are bang to rights.
Viewed the CCTV and there it was in black and white, just like watching crime watch where we watch but move on with our lives and think nothing more of the program but here I am watching events unfold and am part of it and thinking this scum bag has stolen my phone (£550) and think they are smart, smart? bloody thick, stupid as don't they realize that CCTV is everywhere and not the 70's, 80's where you could basically help yourself to what you wanted.
Watched it and this middle age (well to do, not like your average thieve) woman came to the counter and placed her shopping to be scanned etc and put her purse next to my phone, could see her eying my phone up, she looked left then right, left again then looked ahead then picked it up and placed it into her peruse and folded it shut then placed her purse into the bag and walked out, I was f*cking livid, anger was boiling up and said call the police, phoned the old bill and couldn't understand them so told the shop owners to talk with them as my phone was stolen on their property and their problem and sort it out now, not tomorrow but f*cking NOW.
CCTV footage showed her leaving in a blue ford vista and she turned tight out the car park and up the hill, brilliant. My village is in 2 sections, east and west, the west section is where I live and not so populated and can walk all roads in an hour at a good pace and told the owner that I'll find her in an hour (the f*cking owner new her but didn't tell me as he was scared for her safety as if I found her before the police...) so I went in search of the f*cking stuck up, smug f*cking bitch.
Walked 3 roads and thought to myself, why am I walking, get the car, can do the whole village in 15 minutes
so wenk to get the car, as I turned the corner there was 2 police cars outside the shop so didn't bother driving and headed to the shop, the co owner said I was about to ring and the police are here, walked straight to the back room and PC Plod and the owner was sitting, the owner was watching the film again while plod was taking notes, he asked me my name and stuff, excuse me but don't you want to watch this? No need Brighton as I know who she is, really? Yes, are you sure? I've worked here in this community for 10 years and know most people.
Look Pat, go home and I'll call at your home when I've sorted it out and you musn't follow me under any circumstances. The police office asked me what action do I want to take when I get the phone back, just said get it back and tell the bitch not to be so f*cking stupid again.
Hour later PC davis turns up with my phone, great, brilliant. This woman is married with 2 children and when he called she denied all knowledge of my phone and said you must have the wrong person (CCTV) so the officer phoned my phone, nothing, he went to her car and phoned it again, ring ring, he put his hand under the driver seat and guess what, oh my phone.
She didn' have a clue how it got there and the police officer believed her the thick c**t. The police officer told me that 'X' will apologize to the owners as she knows them well and feels ashamed.
Just told the poice office thanks for getting it back but you'll always be a plod pounding the beat and never make a detective and you f*cking lied, the owner new who she was, you said you knew her but you didn't but made out you did think you're ITK and if it wasn't for the owner you'd never have got it back.
