Leon Barnett Today

Scored today for Wigan. Knew he would have a good game so popped a fiver on anytime goalscorer at 10/1

Does anyone wish we had taken him back? Or are you happy with Malky's decision to give him a miss.

If we were still in the championship I'd snap your hand off for him but I feel he won't make the step up.

I think he did brilliantly for us last year and without him we would have struggled. His play is a bit loose though, he goes after everything and loses shape for the team. At Championship level he was winning a high percentage of challenges but in the Prem I think he would get pulled all over the place. One of his best assets for us was his willingness to pick up the ball from the keeper and do something with it. I hope he has a cracking season for Wigan but Caulker is a different class.

The case of how we saw him and could MM maybe get it out of him in the Prem.

Would he been worth it for cover?

I personally think bringing in Caulker could see us bring in further more better defenders.

I agree with you, & signing Barnett would have been a gamble,,,at Premiership level at least.

Malky needs Premiership players, in every position in the squad. Thats the only way we are going to compete,,,& stay in the Premiership. There's going to be a lot more ins & outs in due course, no doubt.

Fair play to barnett he wanted first team football and I imagine malky would have been honest and said he still wouldnt be guaranteed it at cardiff.Moving from one teams reserves to another teams reserves would hve seemed pretty pointless
