When Caulker came on today he looked a beast. Whereas when goal kicks/long balls were being sent up front, Hudson was struggling to make the header above the striker. Caulker on the other hand, bosh get out of the way son sticking the head on every ball. He also made a couple crunching slide tackles. Him and turner looked like monsters in the centre of defence, and i just felt more secure with him there than when hudson was.
What does any1 else think who watched?

I am still stunned that we managed to capture Caulker, a top notch signing who is only 21 yrs old and is going to be an exceptional player.

agree Caulker and Turner for me if we can sign Capoue to sit in front of these two we will start to look pretty solid

Nevermind future england captain.. He's a future Cardiff city captain. He's a leader of MEN.

Thought Turner was MOM today and looked far more secure than Hudson who has been shaky so far pre-season. Caulker won every header and if Rudy hadn't got in his way near then he surely would have scored. I also thought Cowie had an excellent game. Brayford grew into it but his crossing was poor.

This for me explains why MH has been slightly lost in Pre-season. Must be dwelling on the Caulker situation. Hopefully he snaps out of it & fights for his place, as he's immense when on form.

On today's performance it looks like it will be Turner and Caulker in the centre of defence against West Ham. Hudson really didn't look himself this afternoon. We still need a strong holding midfielder in front of them though.

Hudson and Caulker are right footed and Turner left footed. The Caulker/Turner partnership would therefore make more sense. It shouldn't be forgotten however how impressive and vital Hudson was last season and also that he always takes a few games to get going at the start of every season

So you would start Hudson over 9mil Caulker?

I think we'll see hudson and caulker start next saturday for malky to get another perspective buti agree with the above turner and caulker looked a great pairing for half an hour thia afternoon. Think when it comes to the prem we will definately need a strong defensive midfielder as well.

No just pointing out that whilst Turner is probably the more likely partner because he is left footed, Hudson always starts the season slowly so shouldn't be written off as a partner for Caulker based purely on his poor pre-season form

Don't know what to say on the pairing but Caulker looked a monster of a defender.
Still can't take it in that we signed in yet having a photo with him today, incredible signing.

Caulker v Carroll should be an intetesting battle!

Can't really say much on today, it was only half an hour. But I am certain he will be one of, if not the, most important buys for us this season. Just hope that sloppy pass straight to the Chievo striker on the edge of the box is out of his system now!!!

He looked the business today
