Welsh Flags?

Down the stadium and it doesn't look right to me with 4 huge Malaysia flags and no Welsh flags. I know there is a large visit Wales sign but still, wtf?! :?

Chairman Tan's not racist - it's us, allegedly.

Careful before you slate there being no Welsh flags at the stadium before people claim you are belittling the club

I personally found it shocking that we had 4 Malaysian flags to 2 Welsh flags there last season but this season they have taken it that much more further :angry4:

If any flags then there should be 1 of each in all corners. Would prefer there to be cardiff banners/ art there instead though.

Totally agree mate... In my opinion there should be in opposite corners of the stadium the same 2 flags such as a bluebird on white background and in the opposing corners there could possibly be 2 welsh dragons on white background.

I think that would look nice but unfortunately, Tan wants there to be as much following from Asia as possible so their "lucky" red is on our shirts, 4 Malaysian flags, all games are shown live in Asia, sponsored by Malaysia, Malaysian owner and a small possibility of our stadium name being changed to an Asian company due to buying the naming rights :sad7:

The only thing Welsh about us it seems is we are named after a city in Wales, we are based in Wales and there is a Welsh dragon on our badge... apart from that there is nothing to suggest it.
Croeso has obviously bought the naming rights to the Canton stand but that just sounds and looks farfetched within our stadium due to the above

Not much Welsh left of our club anymore I am afraid

It's a disgrace.

Lets celebrate Chinese New Year and do f**k all for St. David's day...

Totally wrong.

Cardiff fans will accept anything. Tan could have said the letter C was bad luck in Indonesia and people would have shrugged their shoulders and accepted it.

"As long as we play in Cardiff...we are still the same club" drivel would have come out.

Yep, just chucking in a random S.E Asian country. Why not? City fans were willing to change colours because alledgedly blue is not appropriate for China, which is made up, so why wouldn't we fall for made up stuff about Indonesia?

Just so depressing, the lack of pride in our club.

Can someone name me a football stadium of a premier league team that has big St George's flags on display inside the main bowl?

The Malaysia flags are there as part of sponsorship.

Our time in the top flight is just around the corner and what are we wasting time arguing about? Flags and the colour of our shorts.

There seems to be a lot of anger from the anti red group today,is it because you have been fooling yourselves with the hope that everyone was going to be wearing blue this season and red was going to disappear.Messageboards have shown in the past that they do not represent the views of most fans and that they are a small but vocal proportion of the fan base,it appears that there are going to be more and more red replica shirts this season after what was seen at the game yesterday.

I think your right. I didn't go into the club shop yesterday but as I passed it after the game it was packed. Virtually only selling red in there as well.

Exactly a lot of people on here think they're well backed on wanting the blue back but at the end of the day 75% of us just don't give a shit what colour we wear, I wear red and I wear blue, it just doesn't bother me. So many tits getting up in arms. Like someone said above, the Malaysian flags are part of the sponsorship

Re: Welsh Flags?

Another one of those issues where we want EVERYTHING our own way.

In all but location we are NOT a Welsh team. You want that sort of nationalism get the club in the Welsh League. Why do we bleet on about being heavily nationalistic and cry when English fans tell us to go back to our own league.

Check out Swansea's entry on the UEFA website they are representing England and any wins they get help England's coefficient. If we are so Welsh why would we let this happen, we are shitting on our own nations ability to rise through the European rankings.

Malmo have been told by UEFA that they cannot fly a Welsh flag next week, it has to be English or nothing. They have chosen to fly no flag.

Not really.. But then again neither of us have proably even search up on teams that have the St George's flag on dispaly..

Do you know of any other teams' fans who have willingly given up their identity & pride for the benefit of Asia too?

Re: Welsh Flags?

Last time I checked Cardiff City football club represents Cardiff and not Wales. I'd rather see a few British flags on display any how. As someone said the Malaysian flags are there for sponsorship.

Mountains out of molehills.

No idea tbh but I wonder how long it will take for the club to change the currency of ticket prices to Ringgit

As we are now a predominately Malasian club playing in the English Premier league, would it not be better to display Malasian flags and Union Jacks around the stadium :o :(

Re: Welsh Flags?

How about this?
And before someone has a go at me for talking such complete and utter rubbish just try to consider it just a little before I get slated.
Here goes......
Instead of moaning that there are not enough Welsh flags in the stadium why don't the moaners do the unthinkable and take a ......wait for it.....

The Union Jack has no relevance to Wales unfortunately so it's predominantly regarded as the English flag to most patriotic Welshmen.
We are Welsh and therefor should display the Welsh flag 1st.
I'm British and Proud but Welsh and Prouder.
Until the Union flag has a green trim or a dragon tucked in the corner or something that shows the slightest bit of "Welshness" I will always stand for the Welsh flag before the British.

We are though.....a Principality which means we are part of England on paper but not in heart.

I wouldn't say weird.
I would say unique though.
My Brother in law is a Jack through and through, home and away. He is if I may say so myself what I would call a True Jack.
He himself admits to being embarrassed though at the amount of Union Jacks or as he calls them "English flags" scattered around the Liberty Stadium and before it the Vetch. It's always been the case down there and he knows he can never change it so he has no option but to accept it.
I would hate it if we were seen at Cardiff, The Capital City of Wales if we were being seen to bow to English Rule.
Unique in many ways actually.
Cardiff City is the only Club in the British leagues that is also a Capital City.
Cardiff City fans are attributed to be the 1st fans ever to sing at a football match which therefor means that "I'LL BE THERE" is the oldest ever football song.
Cardiff City fans are the only fans that use a Gesture which instantly proves which team they support with the unique head tapping gesture of "The Ayatollah"
Cardiff City are the only ever club to take the oldest trophy in the world out of England when in 1927 they won the FA Cup.
There are obviously so many more things and I'm sure you Jacks have your own uniqueness that us Bluebirds may not know about.
C'mon you mighty Bluebirds, let's keep making history.
