Velikonja. Quality to the group?

I have a lot of respect for Malky, however I am a little confused when he insists that he only wants to 'add quality to the group'.

By this manta Velikonja must be a quality player?

Why has he not been given a reaonable chance? Why hasn't anybody, during a press conference, pressed Malky on this point?

A whole 45 mins and he's Rubbish lol ........ very expensive player for the future, needs to be loaned out to a championship team for a full season to get some real game time and experience. Would be nice to see him bag 20 goals in a season, the kid needs to prove his doubters wrong and prove MM that he's worth the money we paid for him

I agree with both of you Velikonja was rubbish against Hull but 45 mins is not enough time to judge a player. EV did really well with the development side last year scoring a hatful of goals.

I would agree he would be better off on loan somewhere. Not sure if he has a work permit or if he did would that affect any loan move?

Of course there is the remote possibility MM is keeping him back as some kind of secret weapon

Malky was scouting Velikonja when he was with Watford, hes not a Tan signing. There was an article saying this before. Cant be arsed to look for it

They probably thought that he would be good enough, but he hasn't performed as they expected.
I don't think Tan (who previously had very little interest in football) would have watched him play or even heard of him.

Quality player was actually thinking about getting him on this seasons shirt but gone with gunnarsson.. Love Velikonja though even though he hasn't proved over here yet I still have faith in him.
Proved he can score goals and fine goals in the Slovenian league.
Loan him out for the season so he gets regular football then bring him into the prem

Velikonja? if he was good enough he would be playing. There is always a gamble with any
young player because most players find a level, plateau and cant progress. This is the case
with Velikonja. So Malky got one wrong? Why people read more into it is beyond me. He
looks to me like a player who realises he cant quite cut the mustard. No biggie.

I've heard from someone who would know, that Velikonja won't make it in the English Leagues, he is not suited, and he will probably go abroad.................

I remember the former Aston Villa boss Brian Little brought Savo Milosevic for £3.5 million a few years back. After a while the Villa fans were calling him "Miss-a-lot-ević.

I am not saying that Malky done the same thing with Velikonja but theres something strange surrounding the amount which was paid for him but not good enough to get into the squad yet alone the first 11.
