More fans than Swansea

Sat Aug 03, 2013 7:50 am

Come on fans let show those jack bastards that we can get more support on a friendly than they can get on their first game in Europe!

I think this forum should have more cardiff posts than swansea posts.

Aren't there only 2 stands open?

No more than 8,000 in my opinion. It's a friendly against a lower European team, it's certainly not an attractive fixture.

If you want to look at Swansea forum go on blazers caravan website! Ahaha

I may be mistaken, but I'm sure I read that the Canton and Grange ends were not open for these two home games, hence seats not being available to purchase online.

How many did they have against Malmo?

What was the attendance after? Haven't seen the figures anywhere.

Don't know, but comparing a competitive European fixture (first since 93?) and a pre season friendly isn't right.

6000-8000 max from what I could see there. The Grandstand looked pretty full, the Ninian was fairly full in the middle.

Looked to be about 20 Chievo fans too.

At the end of the day not a massive crowd but it's a pre-season friendly against a side with only the one player I signed for Burnley on football manager that I recognised :D

Oh dear, is Paul really trying to compare a competitive European tie (first since 93?) to a pre-season friendly?

Your 20,000 plastics will be back for the Citeh game, no doubt. :laughing6:

Friendlies are the only time a jack could get one up on us with attendances. Every game, every season it's a different story isn't it

Just like the 10k that didn't bother to turn up to your game with Barnsley in the Capital One Cup last season?

9k for a competitive fixture. :laughing6: I bet they were all there for the final though, eh?

Barnsley? Pffft.

Get with it Bazza. With everything going on at your club and all these 'exciting' new signings,i'd have expected a lot more than 6-8k there today.

Anyway,I bumped this thread for the ridiculous OP,and I think we're half way in agreement on it.

To be fair, anyone arguing now is  the op was cringe worthy and yet some are still going.

Pre-season friendly for 15 quid a ticket? No thanks. I'm sure many others felt the same too.

I'm amazed you didn't sell out your first European game at home though.

I don't think you'd have sold out either.Malmo, with all due respect just aren't a big draw, are they? We get to play the best week in week out throughout the season so it didn't really set pulses racing when the draw was made.

Mind you, great occasion and our first foray into Europe since the last time so 16000 and 4-0,we'll all take.

Ironic that! considering 90% of your fans are still confused as to why they don't pick the ball up & start running :o

Barry again I will say I dont think we are a big club as do other jacks.
But the way some of u lot talk your massive.
As big as villa and everton more recently, and lets not forget the massive potential u lot allways keep on about.
How ever way u look at it 6-8000 is shit for a top first home friendly , plus its the first time you have had a home friendly as a premier club.
Your just a standerd size club as we are but try desperately to convince your selfs you more.
Would not make good fishermen thats for sute.

"Top" friendly? Hardly.

I don't agree with this idiots who think we are as big as Everton either, mind.

It isn't shit for a friendly, exactly what I was expecting.
