West Ham and Cardiff City are battling it out to land Real Madrid youngster Denis Cheryshev on loan, according to sources in Spain.
talkSPORT told you last month that the Russian winger's long-term future is at the Bernabeu after he penned a new four-year deal.
The 22-year-old, who faces competition from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria and Isco, has not ruled out a loan switch away in the short term.
Speaking after Real Madrid's 3-1 friendly win against LA Galaxy, he said: "There are many attacking players. I have played left-back [against LA Galaxy] but I consider myself an attacking player. I'm grateful to the club for renewing my contract.
"I do not know what will happen but I will accept the decision of the coach and the club."
Both West Ham and Cardiff, who will face each other at Upton Park on the opening day of the new Premier League season, have sounded out Real over a deal for Cheryshev.
