Mackay thanks Tan

Fri Aug 02, 2013 9:43 am

Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has thanked club owner Vincent Tan for providing the funds for him to build a Premier League squad. Mackay has added Steven Caulker to his side this week on top of the deal which brought Andreas Cornelius to South Wales. He has also been linked with Peter Odemwingie and a deal is in place for Etienne Capoue. Mackay has thanked Tan for backing him with the funds to bring in players of Caulker's standing. "He's been fantastic in allowing me to go out and get players who can enable us to compete at the highest level," Mackay told Wales online. "This is how we can take the club forward. We need someone with a vision and someone who buys into my vision as well. "He is doing that and I'm very thankful."

Do you think he is here for anything other than selfish reasons? .....profit and and prestige back in Malaysia, If he shits on you in the process it's no worry to him at all as he has proved with the rebrand and subsequent comments. Perhaps he should be thanking His Wales based sychophants for being such a push over? :ayatollah:

 Have to admit it, it's a joke how easily he's bundled over Cardiff's tradition. Thought their would be a massive backlash. But no, you give us Premier League football, and we'll paint ourselves red and let you shrink our souls aka bluebird.

He does have a point; "teams like Man United, Arsenal do well and they play in red..."

Ffs get real all owners are in it for the money in premier, how they get there is up to them! As they own club even man u are in 350m or more debt because of glaziers. Yes they can service it but could be in black if not for glaziers using club as cash cow for themselves.

Question: how many pl owners are ploughing millions into a club "because i love it" 99% of them are in it for financial gain.its a business to them.just as it is for tan!and before the smart arses reply with sell out/traitor posts.i support cardiff city.regardless of what their previous owners have done!! And agree we were lucky he stepped up for us.my dad is 82 and has a ct and has asked me to purchase a red top.shall i say "no f**k off you sellout/traitor"as some on this board would like or do i purchase a red shirt as he wants one cos"we are red now son"and "i couldnt give a toss if they wore stockings n suspenders.they are cardiff city to me.not a colour!"

I think you'll find that it's the VT's of this world that are few and farbetween. Unless you can name me all the other owners who have demoted the proud club strip to a third choice along with disrespecting the fans, comparing us with cinema goers.

Until you name all these chairmen like Tan i'll portray you as the one out of touch displaying undue reverence for a pisstaker like Tan.

Oh right your changing the question is that how it works

Tan is just one of many billionaire owners in the Premier League who has no afiliation whatsoever with the football club.

Yes but profit is not enough for Tan, so you are wrong to try and normalize him in your mind by comparing him to other owners. What he has done isn't normal , classy or respectful to you, me and everyone else. So why thank him?

Teenage kicks aside you startred going to games in a donkey jacket so it's a home comming for ya

What exactly is 'Cardiff tradition?'

To me it is playing in a ramshackle stadium before 3k supporters with an ambitions to rise out of Division 4 (in old money), not get relegated, keeping the Wolves from the door and topping the hooligan league.

We had to do something radical (even if it was painful) to stop the never ending cycle of debt, relegations and hopelessness.

Going bust like you did and coming back with a completely different name is not an option as far as I am concerned.

Actually I salute the vast majority of our fans who had the vision and tolerance to put their own preferences aside and support what was best for CCFC.
