Spoke to Steve Borley tonight re Capoue

Thu Aug 01, 2013 11:15 pm

He confirmed that everything has been agreed but Capoue is waiting for Alethico Madrid or any other team which can offer CL football to come in. However to date no one has matched our offer and this could go all the way to transfer deadline day.

Steve said however that having lost out on Wanamaya, Malky and the Club are keen to clinch this deal so it really is a case of fingers crossed :ayatollah: :malky:

As much as I'd like him here. You don't want for something that may or may not happen

It's not worth it if it were to go to deadline day, and then another club comes in and we're left with nobody in that position...

In my opinion of course.

Agreed Steve did mention wee have other targets but we definitely are looking to sign a defensive midfielder because we only have Gunnarson in that position and they are not sure yet if his shoulder injury could keep him out for longer than expected :(

Give him until Monday 00.00 and if he hasn't made a decision then tell him no.

Give him 48 hours to decide, If he does want to join then great if he doesn't we move onto another target simple. :ayatollah:

Totally agree. We cannot wait until deadline day to be let down at the last minute with no time to go for another option.

Capoue (or what ever his name is as no one really knows if he's any good or not but are all creaming themselves over his signing) has to be given a deadline and if he doesn't sign by that date we move on.

Can't blame his ambition but again we can't be held back, would be great to have a player of his quality but we've given him enough time and he's agreed terms, we either give him a set deadline. We could get trumped on deadline day and be fucked, hope a winger is the priority though

Was also told tonight not by Borley but by another guy who has spent the last 3 weeks at the CCS working for SKY on the new media suites. That Malky basically got pissed off with Ince procrastinating and Malky give him 3 hours to make a decision and we all now know the outcome :(

However well done to Malky for telling Ince and his old man to stop the pissing around and allowing us to move on to other targets :malky:

Fair play to Malky's stance. He doesn't take shit. Thanks for passing the information on by the way. I really am impressed by Malky

Really cant understand Cardiff's stance on Capoue . Will Cardiff keep back 10 mill hoping that he will sign by the 31st August and hold back on other possible signings ?

Something don't add up .. Wanyama's bid wasn't even accepted by Celtic so how did we loose out ?

I'm sure Boreley told you what he knew.

I hope we do get this done. The good news we are still the only one who lodged a bid which is respectable to Toulouse.

We also need to remember Toulouse need this money to fund getting in some new players in themselves.

Hope we can land this lad,but if not done by biboa game should then leave it,don't think we should even think about going and panic buying on deadline day!!

The caulker deal showed how to do it. Clubs agree the fee, personal terms agreed and signed up within seemingly 2 or 3 days. Proves the player wants to play for us and the blitzkrieg process reduces the chances of other clubs snatching them.

Just can't see Capoue signing so I hope we don't waste any more time after this weekend.

we definately need a cut off point, no-one player is more important than the club.

Malky will not be letting it go to deadline day for Capoue. He'll be working on other targets as we speak, and if he gets one of them he'll withdraw the offer for Capoue, imo

Horses for courses. The Kim Bo deal dragged on for weeks. Malky got his man.

Agree that the team will be working on other targets and that if one of them comes off, we'll rescind the offer. I would not be surprised though if we do a deal or two on deadline day, as some targets may be held by their club until they get someone in.

Also think it may be prudent to plan for the possibility of dealing in the Jan transfer window, look what happened with Maynard last year.

It would be disapointing to have a key player in our squad knowing that he doesn't want to be here

If liverpool go for costa then he will not come as athletico will have the money to sign him! And they are his preffered choice.time to move on i think.hope not but i think malky needs to tell him."monday or we forget it!!"cant afford to have a player who's mjnd is not on the job!

Give him till the end of the weekend. We can't waste time ahead of our first season in the Premier league.

Agree 100% we want players that want to come to our Club with no reservations: Steve Borley said last night that Caulker came down for a look around discussed terms and said straight away 'where do i sign'? this is the type of player we want to sign  :malky:

He clearly prefers to be somewhere else, and even if his preferences don't come him for him, he will come to us reluctantly. His heart will never be in it playing for us and he will always be looking for something better. Why are are chasing pricks like this - we need players who will fight for cause and wear their hearts on their sleeve, not mercenary French Tossers.

How is he a prick? He's one of the most highly rated in his his position in Europe, if I was him I'd try and get a move to a European giant too.

Don't understand the rhetoric about him? If he signs you will all be saying what a great signing! :laughing6:

Dream on! If he was one the of the most highly rated players in his position in Europe how come only Athletico Madrid are the only ones that have shown any interest in him, and by the way don't value him as highly as we do.
There are either lots of highly rated players in his position throughout Europe or you have been reading too many articles in the Daily Sport that were probably written by his agent.

So you think majority of people on this forum won't be thrilled to have him sign for us?
And its daily mail, the sport is for frustrated men! & don't read either!
