New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:25 am

--------------------Marshall------------------

-Brayford----Turner---Caulker-----Taylor

---------Mutch------Kim-----Gunnarsson----------

-----Bellamy----Cornelius-----Frazier-----

At the moment that is what I'd go for.

I've got a worrying feeling Turner, Hudson and Caulker will all start with 5 at the back :-O. Turner is a better player than Hudson but he is the captain. Hudson is liability at times.

We need new faces on the wing. Noone, Bellamy and Conway are not good enough to play all year. Suppose that was the plan with Tom Ince. :ayatollah:

Hudson was our best player last season .. or am I the only one who thinks that he was solid all season and who ever partnered up with him be it nugent, turner or conally he never looked out of place..

to be honest i don't think Malky would even consider dropping him for the first few games because he is club captain :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:30 am

Hide will start, although personally I prefer Turner. But Hudson led by example last season and rightly won POTY.

Also I'd drop Mutch for Whitts

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:31 am

Your opinion on Hudson is the worst I've ever seen. Best player for us last season BY FAR! & and our captain. You obviously didnt follow Cardiff last season

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:31 am

Turner isnt even half the player Hudson is!

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:32 am

Hudson is our Captain, give the guy a chance. He will start, i am also a big fan of noone. You have put no wingers in the team here, i think you team selection and formation is way off.

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:33 am

Ben Turner, the hoof ball diagonal passing defender.. Absolutely awful, looks big in stature but easily pushed off the ball. Opinion on Hudson couldn't be anymore wrong.

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:33 am

Mine is:
Marshall

Brayford hudson caulker taylor

Mutch gunnerson Whittingham

Kimbo

Bellamy cornelious

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:35 am

Hudson was brilliant and critical to our season as evidenced by the amount of goals leaked after his injury. Barnett did OK but Hudson was immense.

I can see malky getting maybe 3 more players (2mid and 1 fwd) and perhaps a loan or 2 from the bigger PL teams to add depth accorss the park.

4-3-1-2 formation

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:36 am

You would keep our captain and player of the year on the bench? Did you not see turners defending against bradford? Thats insane, hudson and culker will go well together.

i personally think Bellamy will be used as a sub mostly next season, I think Malcky will be starting with Campbell or Maynard next season

For west ham --------------------Marshall----------

-Brayford----hudson---Caulker-----to be named

------------gunnarsson----------

-----noone----kimbo-----witts-----bellamy

--------Cornelius---------

At the moment that is what I'd go for.

Corny up front on his own I reckon with 5 across the midfield. Possibly Bellers and Campbell as wingers tracking back when required and able to break quickly should the chance arise.

id go the same except for two. Mutch in for whitts and conway in for noone. Malky didnt like playing Noone away from home last season, i cant see it changing this season either.

Obviously if Capoue and a good winger come in the things will change but im happy with that team.

Re: New starting lineup

Hudson was not poor.... When he was injured, not only did we miss his presence but also his leadership.

His organisation at times gets missed, but as a fellow center half, he does a fantastic job at the back. Caulker will add pace and similar qualities and I feel the back 4 will be very strong.

Although I admire Andrew Taylor, I question his defensive ability and I feel we will need a very good cover if not a starting left back.

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:59 am

He won't get away with the barging into strikers like he did last year. Some of it got ridiculous without the ref punishing him. He was dominate in the air for us but he won't have that this year with teams like Arsenal. I'd play the players that are more mobile at all costs.

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 11:11 am

what about maynard do anyone reckon he will play then

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 11:57 am

4-5-1 away and against big teams at home

Marshall

Brayford. Hudson. Caulker. Taylor

New right winger. Kimbo. Mutch. Gunnerson. Bellamy

Cornelius

4-4-2 against lesser clubs

Replace gunnerson or mutch with Cambell or Maynard

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 12:23 pm

Marshall
Brayford - Hudson - Caulker - Taylor
Kim - Capoue - Gunnarson - Whitts
Campbell - Cornelius

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 12:26 pm

Hudson is our captain and (with Marshall) was our star player last season and probably the best CB in the league.

Turner is a super player and still relatively young, I expect to see him have his share of game time and develop into a player capable of replacing Hudson, who is now into his 30s.

Re: New starting lineup

Thu Aug 01, 2013 12:30 pm

Marshall
Brayford
Hudson(C)
Caulker
Taylor
Capoue
Mutch
Gunnarson
Kim
Bellamy
Cornelius

4-3-2-1

Re: New starting lineup

A lot of formations being slammed in to fit the best XI players ... not exactly a Malky approach is it,

1. Malky loves his crosses (more than any other team in the champ last season)
2. Malky likes to get players in the box
3. I cannot see how he'll play only two centre mids next season... no way. He'll pack the midfield and expect centre mids to get forward.

You can't make up formations with the best XI players - Malky has a certain approach and there is no way he'll just drop it. Just like we won't all of a sudden be reborn as a route-one football side.

So that means it will 100% be a 4-3-2-1 formation.

--------------------------Marshall---------------------------

Brayford----------Hudson-------Caulker------------(Taylor)

-----------------------Mutch/Capoue-----------------------
-------------Kim------------------------Whitts/Gunna-----

--Noone/Frazier9?)----------------------------Bellers-----

-----------------------Cornelius-----------------------------

If I ever see Ralls playing left back again, I swear to god I'll go onto the pitch myself and show him how to get side on when defending! Awful defender. McNaughton, Connolly and Lappin can all play full back.

Did Frazier ever play on the wing at his ex-clubs? I know that as a MU player he would have certainly played out on the wing from time to time.

From what's certain:

Marshy
Brayford - Hudson -- Caulks - Lappin (for hammers)
-------------------Mutch -- Gunnar------------------
Noone --------------------------------- Bellamy
---------------------Maynard----------------------------
---------------------Cornelius---------------------------
