The Football Played By Cardiff City...

Last season it was very measured and focused on results. Everything geared up to stopping
the other team from playing. Im not complaining, Arsenal won the League time after time
doing that under George Graham. Do we think Malky will keep the same philosophy on the
pitch this season? We know he is capable of sending sides out with flair and dynamic forward
play, Watford destroyed us when he was their manager. I hope we see some cracking football
and kind of think we will do :D

I'm sorry to say but I think it will be more defensive. Aimed at getting the result. scumsea did it, with no care about entertaining football, just tappy tappy stuff.

With pacey forwards like Bellamy, Campbell and Maynard, I think it will counter attacking football. Set plays will also be very important.

totally agree. The players we have bought (a goal scoring CB and a 6ft 4in striker) suggest 1 up top, counter attacking wingers and set plays. Staying up is what it is all about first season so i'll take it as long as it is successful. :ayatollah:

Same. We'll try and score from set pieces, be very robust and drain teams and frustrate them. Think Liverpool in the Carling Cup when for a lot of it we just sat in and annoyed them forcing them to often shoot from distance. I think we'll see more of the same but with obviously more talented players.

You only have to look at the signings to see this is the way its going with both Caulker and Cornelius being tall and offering major threats from set pieces. If we can bring in Capoue then that's also a strong robust midfielder who can sit in front of the back 4 and break play up and annoy players. We also have Gunnarsson who can do this dog work.

I just hope he brings in a winger with pace who can also cut in like Bellamy as it'll mean we will be strong on the counter as well which will make us a threat to teams who pressure us. We'll have Bellamy left wing and Kim most likely in attacking midfield so a right winger who can go outside but also cut inside would be ideal.
