BALE VS GIGGS

So with gareth Bale on the verge of joining european giants Real Madrid it looks like the worlds most expensive player is WELSH and even better from CARDIFF!!can only be good for the profile of our city, hope he sells the city well to his new team mates coz you never know But onto another Cardiff born lad Ryan Giggs! I personaly think at the age Bale is now Giggs was better!what do you think?that goal he scored against Arsenal at villa park in the F.A cup semi finals in extra time has still gotta be one of the best goals ive ever seen!both players are class but i think Giggsy has the edge in my opinion, not knocking Bale he is a fantastic player and i wish him all the best at the second biggest club in the world behind Cardiff City dont know how he slipped our scouts nets back in the day shame! but good luck Bale!

Prefer bale as a welsh player, seems very proud to be welsh and play for his country, and will probably end up being voted the worlds best footballer in the not to distant future. but I have to say, ryan giggs is a true footballing legend. one of the Most highly decorated footballers in European football history, he's won everything at club level. You just can't knock giggs achievements. to play at the highest level like he has for 20odd years under fergie (who was ruthless when it came to rebuilding his teams) is quite remarkable. For me, giggs is up there with the all time greatest players. Bale is an exceptional player, but he has a long way to go before he can stand alongside ryan giggs..that's just my opinion

yeah I completely agree both very good players growing up Giggs was my idol..
but Bale does seem to have more passion for Wales Giggs was just concerned on unite in my opinion

bit harsh. Giggs was world class but achieving things in football is largely down to who you play for. If man united had bought Bale from Southampton what would your opinion be now??

Bale won the PFA player of the season last year.... Giggs didnt win it at all untill he was 36?

agree Bales more commited to wales and does very well for us!but Giggs had the better start to his career too,from the age of 17 he's been terrorising defences where Bale started at southampton as a left back moved to spurs as a left back and had a difficult start its only when they moved him up the pitch he really started to excel!Giggs has consistently been at the top of his game throughout his career!

Take Allen out of that list he's shit as has been proved by Liverpool. My mates a Liverpool ST holder and says all there fans think he was a waste of money. Add Mathews to that list.

I think Bale is slightly quicker, but Giggs was technically superior - he didn't rely on his speed alone to outwit opponents.

Let's not forget, Fergie had a lot to do with the reason why Giggs didn't appear for Wales as much as he could have. If it was down to Giggs entirely, he didn't have to play for Wales at all - he chose to, though. It was down to Fergie's management of the player at the time.

As good as Bale is though, it was Giggs for me in the early 90s...

When Bale has played at the top for 20 years then we can talk about him in the same breath as Ryan Giggs.
I'm not doubting he has the ability to do this but the fact is....he hasn't yet.
bale along with Messi and Ronaldo can arguably be regarded as the best players in the world right now but Longgevity is the one thing that sets Ryan Giggs apart from all the others at this moment in time.
Due to this fact I personally regard Ryan Giggs as a better playerand unless Gareth Bale has something near the same Longgevity then it will only be ryan Giggs that people are talking about in 20 / or even 50 years time.
The guy is a Legend.

Bale will be the better if/when he moves to Madrid. He will achieve more and be the final piece of the jigsaw at Real Madrid. He has the potential to be as big as Beckham in terms of looks etc, clothing range. Hopefully his football is still the priority though. It's like saying Ince is better than Le Tissier because Le Tis never left

I always thought Giggs was overrated and lucky to play in an era and side that was full of talent.Bale carries Spurs on his own whereas Giggs never did that with United.Bale also scores far more goals than Giggs did for a winger so for that reason it's Bale every day for me.

Only a matter of time before we get our first Welsh World player of the Year i reckon.

The proof of it all will be in 10 years or so, to see if Bale has been able to do it over such a long period of time.

luke ,giggs has proved it .still done it when his pace has gone compared to what it was.bale is a speed merchant.there again when he,s 30 he can always just go back to doing what he was signed for at spurs.playing left back.i like bale more than giggs as a person if it,s fair to make that statement from only reading/seeing/hearing press statements and interviews.bale has a nievity about him which i like.just hope the madrid move dont turn him the wrong way.seems a balanced lad so he should be ok.
