Simon Lappin and Predictions...

Wed Jul 31, 2013 10:58 pm

Just hearing a few people talking about how we need to sign another left back to cover for Taylor, curious to see where people stand with lappin? Also where we need to strengthen and where well eventually finish this season?

At the moment we have Lappin as cover behind Taylor with Declan John or Joe Ralls or Kev as another LB option.

He is a good professional, able to do a job at left back or left midfield - but cover at best, and maybe seen as more of a squad player and influence than a match-day player.

I think he has one year left? I can't see him leaving - but like Kev and Matt Connolly he will be competing for a 'cover' role in the back line.

I doubt he will ever be a Premiership starter.

We need to strengthen where most of the transfer speculation has been - defence (maybe Caulker and Brayford enough - but I think one more) a defensive midfielder, a winger and possibly another striker (Gomis without the attitude?).

We will finish 17th or above!

I'd have to agree with him being a bit part player but given the right circumstance could prove a decent asset.
I think your spot on in regards to a defensive midfielder, winger and a striker although I think we look half decent at the back since caulker signed ( think he's a massive coupe for the club and hats go off to Malky ).
I'm a bit more optimistic and would say a comfortable mid table finish with the decent players in the said positions - I think the capoue would solve the DM problem nicely....

Jack Colback would be a good signing.
