Whenever we sign or are linked to a player I like to visit other forums and see what the fans think. They see him week in, week out, so have a very reliable opinion. Normally you see plenty of 'he's not worth that much, it's a good deal for us' and, although there's been a couple of those, the majority don't seem to understand letting the 'best CB prospect in England' (their words, not mine) leave.
Here's one of many posts:
Likely to be the dumbest thing we have done in quite a while. Could understand if they bid 30m and above for him with an instant payment or if this is to be just another season-loan deal even.
For the 8m to 11m range (from varying reports) we are letting a promising defender who has the potential to be a permanent fixture in Spurs' and England backline in the near future is just insanity. I hope like some of you have mentioned there is a favorable buy-back clause.

In short, looks like we've got a cracking signing. Hope MM didn't cave and give a buy back clause. If he didn't, this is an incredibly exciting prospect.
Let's hope he lives up to it!
