Nobody seems happy. Quite a bit of abuse coming to us on twitter. Mainly from Jacks

I love being hated by most football fans in the country. :malky:

Some reaction from Spurs fans here.

They dont seem happy that Caulker has gone and it looks like we have a top, top player on our hands. Might even represent England at the World Cup next year.

Good move for him. He is guaranteed to be playing here as long as he's fit. No doubt about that and with us just coming up the eyes will be on us like they were on Swansea hence why Allen and Britton got so much recognition for their achievements.

I can understand why Spurs fans are angry but the World Cup is next year and if he's on the bench how can he stake his claim? Wise move from the lad and one done for footballing reasons it looks like. Seems a sensible lad who's happy with what he's earning and now wants to play and achieve, knows hes young and can get a good move in the future if he puts the work in.

Just took a look at Planet Swans as well to see their reaction and it seems that the majority think we have signed a good defender here. Very excited about this signing.

Well I have posted this today

SCFC wrote:£9 million for Caulker is a bargain, he's very good and proven at this level and he has a massive sell on value. With us he was superb alongside Ashley Williams, he made the odd error but he was very comfortable on the ball and very good in the air, he's improved since then and should be a regular for England in years to come. Hope this isn't true, awful business from Spurs.

He has no real allegiance towards us, just like with us having Routledge. He was only on loan and it's not going to be any sort of issue in the deal.

I never stated that he was worth £20 million, just that I don't see why Spurs would sell Steven Caulker. I don't know how you've managed to pull it off if reports are true and it is a fantastic signing. Like I've said it's awful business from Spurs.

My original post was this:

SCFC wrote:No chance of this happening, he should be playing regularly for Spurs next season. He wasn't available for loan last season, and on the back of a better season than expected he's not going to be available for loan this season. It would be a step backwards in his career to the stage he was at in 2011 when he joined us, he's moved on since then and will be looking to establish himself as a regular for Spurs and England in the next couple of years and his best chance of doing that is staying with Spurs.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were in for him, but like with a lot of your targets you need to get realistic.

Hopefully this deal can be sorted quickly.Would be a good signing.

Caulker made Williams look a better player than he is.
Williams is so overrated it is untrue.

Caulker making the right choice to come to Cardiff, im sure he will be a regular in our side and will probably get an England call up. He needs to play regular football. :ayatollah:

I know, I didn't think there was a chance of it happening so fair play if you can pull it off.

Williams was the better and more reliable of the two in their season together, and if Caulker was the one that made him look good then I guess it was Chico making him look good last season and Monk making him look by far and away the best defender in the Championship. Either he's an extremely lucky guy, or a very good defender. Then again there's people on here who genuinely believe the last ten years has been based on nothing but luck.

It will be interesting to see how Caulker plays alongside someone like Mark Hudson, rather than Jan Vertonghen, Michael Dawson or Ashley Williams.

I actually rate Williams so wont be going down the "making him look good" avenue as you clearly point out he has had a number of partners the last few years and has always been one of your best and most consistent players.

Also, I will acknowledge that your rise last 10 years has been sticking to a plan, and not through luck, as I am a realist and will give credit where its due.

You do play some good football, and looked to have made some shrewd signings agian this summer, but you have got way ahead of yourselves. The arrogance shown by most of the Jacks on this board you swear you were Real Madrid.

Its nice to see some of you eating humble pie for a change.
