Leon Barnett half a million

Thought he played extremely well for us when he came in late on loan. Wigan have offered half a million for him, surely we should be looking for his signature

we are being heavily linked to Caulker, i think that shows we are aiming much higher, no offense to Barnett. He was superb for us in the championship, but in my opinion not good enough for the prem.

I would love to have him in the squad, simply due to the way he gelled with the squad. But he wants first-team football, and if Malky's looking to bring Caulker and Moreno in, it'd be hard to give him that.

According to reports Wigan Athletic are chasing Norwich City centre-half Leon Barnett.

SportsDirect News claims Latics boss Owen Coyle is finalising a £750,000 bid a deal for the centre-back.

Coyle is understood to have agreed a price for the experienced defender who helped the Canaries reach the Premier League and then went on loan to Cardiff City for their final push.


The Latics chief hopes to push through a deal for Barnett today and get him into his plans for the opening game at Barnsley.

i thought he was available to leave on a free??

wouldnt do a bad job for wigan in the championship..

He would be decent for depth and he can still add some quality to the team.

I'd have taken him on a free but 500k can be spent elsewhere

barnett was better than connelly and turner we wouldnt sign him to start just for a sub

Malky after the parade made contact to Norwich about what was going to happen with him next season but seems like MM was happy to look elsewhere.

No doubt wherever he ends up, I hope he does well.

One of the best loans we ever had. Hudson was out and he stepped in and didn't put a foot wrong. He was key in the last few games and he really wanted to do well and make sure we went up despite always being a Norwich player.

Really gutted he didn't get a medal.

I certainly want to see him here, played great for us last season and a real rock at the back

I think he was awesome here and did an unbelievable job , now we should leave it as one of the best loans ever to our club and remember him fondly rather than watch him rot on the bench . He deserves better and should go to the championship where he shines

Sorry?? How many games did you watch him play while he was here? What flaws did he exhibit that you can recall?
He was a top-notch stop-gap payer for us and I wish him all the best wherever he ends where I'm sure he'll do very well.
