The Union Flag.

Question: What happens to this flag if Scotland votes for independence? What happens to the blue and white saltire if they go independent? The Union Flag loses some of its elements, that's what.

The London government is absolutely desperate to avoid Scotland voting for independence. They know that while Scotland would be internationally recognized as an independent country in its own right, it would leave the remainder of the UK with an identity crisis. The Union Flag, the symbol Britain throughout the world, would be redundant, it would cease to have validity. This is an opportunity for we Welsh to capitalize on for our own benefit.

Wales has never had any representation on the Union Flag at all, but if you take another look at the Flag of St David's, a very simple way to remedy this disgraceful state of affairs quickly comes to light. Fans of the colour blue will love this one. Do the quiz below and you'll catch my drift.

There are four nations that make up the United Kingdom. Three of their flags are shown below. Using your skill and judgement can you work out what the fourth flag should look like?

(1) England: A red cross on a white background.

(2) Northern Ireland: A red saltire on a white background.

(3) Scotland: A white saltire on a blue background.

Following the pattern in 1 to 3, what should the fourth flag (a new flag for Wales) look like?
Hint: Look at the existing flag of St David.

Just by slightly modifying the colours in the flag of St David, Wales automatically gets representation on the Union Flag, and keeps the Union Flag alive if Scotland votes for independence. The Welsh Government should seriously consider putting this forward to the London government and, in return for making that change, they pay us a few billion in return.
