so we've had a bid accepted days ago yet have heard nothing so he's either waiting for a bigger club or he's turned down the chance to even negotiate with us?im not sure but he's hardly jumping at the chance to join us.shame coz he sounds like a class player and class players attract other class players looks like for now malkys got his work cut out convincing players to join us intill where an established premier league club only other option is paying stupid wages but i dont see tan and malky as the types to do so!still not panicing yet we all know defence is main concern still but i have total trust in malky sure he knows what hes doing as others have posted before we done most of are business in august last year so keep the faith!hope capoue does join us but think if he was he would of joined us by now hope im wrong tho!

How do you work that out? Bid was accepted late Thursday/Friday by all accounts, Malky told us it had been accepted on Saturday and that he was meeting with his advisors soon. It's only Tuesday today. I'm sure representatives of Cardiff City have met with Capoue, some transfers take longer than others, just because its gone quiet doesn't mean he's 100% rejected us

Hopefully by the end of the week we will have heard something. If not there's no need to panic if it doesn't come off Malky will have back ups.

Exactly, if he turns us down then so be it, at least we tried on bringing in someone of that talent, Malky will definitely have someone to turn to if he doesn't get his man, maybe even cheaper so he can buy even more talent?

Yes., even having a bid accepted shows the ambition of our Manager and Owner.

I've seen on twitter (I know not reliable at all) that he is due over for talks today. Hopefully this is true and some news comes our way soon.

If he comes down here I believe it's done. We've had MM go to Toulouse and meet him and his agent so if he comes here it'd surely be to just sign the contract and have his medical.

So is that saying they've dropped out? They're keeping the money for another player?

no it means Atletico have pulled out they can't compete with us on wages and transfer fee

Seems like, I have seen a load of "tweets" that they prefer a different player or won't pay what we have offered etc.
Good news for us.

I seem to recall a post saying we'd know one way or the other on Wednesday. Can't remember who posted it but made sense at teh time as there was talk of him coming over monday tuesday this week.

All sounding very good. Come on Etienne, you know you want to....

This is a classic, glass half full or half empty scenario.
For those that say, we've heard nothing he can't be coming. You could also say, we've heard nothing he must be interested still.
If he wasn't coming his agent, club or player himself would have said something. I think the silence gives us hope.

Spot on. I don't like it when we hear something new every few hours. I haven't got a clue if it's true or not.
In terms of Malky's dealings - no news is good news.

no news or idle paper gossip might be good at this time....

Its the same problem that most promoted teams to the PL face. Look at Wigan when they went up - they had loads of money to spend but struggled to attract the type of player they were after, and couldn't spend the money they had available.
Yes we are a bigger club than Wigan, but we still the face the same problems that they had. I admire MM's ambition but sometimes wonder whether he's fishing in wrong pool. Time is ticking and we need to strengthen the squad to stay in the PL - we don't necessarily need to win it in the first year!

The article basically states that Athletico will prepare a new bid, which is unlikely.

According to the BBC, Etienne Capua prefer to join Atletico Madrid rather than Cardiff. Problem: if the Welsh club has already agreed with the TFC for a transfer of 10 million and 2 million

Tell him to sod off then and we'll get Joey Barton instead.
Tue Jul 30, 2013 10:20 pm
Silence is golden. We would of heard if he had said no thanks.
Tue Jul 30, 2013 10:20 pm
We'll find out more tomorrow IMO, Echo will interview MM
