Gomis has been left out of Lyons Champions League squad for this season.

Gomis and capoue here together with the French connection helping each other settle in would be good! If not we have always got Rudy here to help out capoue settle but gomis would be better option than Rudy! Can't see malky going for another striker now though

I get the impression Gomis is a bit of a bad egg,better left alone methinks.

Newcastle haven't withdrawn all interest, according to Sky Sports. They've put an offer in and Lyon rejected, but that offer will apparently remain on the table until another club comes in with a higher bid.
It could be that no other club wants to fork out the cash, and that Newcastle get him with their offer of around £8m.
Fairly sure the Lyon president has been quoted as saying that Cardiff and Swansea both had bids accepted, but that Gomis turned down the opportunity.

What DID he want from a transfer then? He could have stayed at Lyon and Played CL. Lyon obviously had a guts full and have pushed the matter.
