Real for Bale

Mon Jul 29, 2013 1:32 pm

Very interesting stories being written.

I read a RUMOUR on BBC that T'Ham have or are going to be offered 51 Million plus F Coentrao and Di Maria. Surely any team would bite Reals hand off.

Coentrao is far better than any wingback they have, Di Maria is a very worthy replacement winger and 51 million could bring in a few quality players including a more central attacking player to fill the space which Bale was playing in last season.

In short...They could bring in half a team of extremely high quality on that money. Ok they do have to think of wages and Bale was only on about 4 mil/year but releasing shite like Adebayor would help.

thoughts?

But they wont have a player like Bale

They have money their already to bring a few players in and Spurs are only needing one or two players to get a top 4 spot.

£51m plus Coentrao and Di Maria? No chance.

Coentrao, maybe, but there's no way Real would be silly enough to spend all that money and also get rid of Di Maria - one of the world's best wingers, and a vital member of their team.

In some ways I agree, but if Bale is by far your best player, you will never improve from 4th. If you use the money to buy 5/6 other players who are just a fraction below in quality but have still achieved at the highest level, throw in paulinho and soldado and you may be fighting for top 2 in a season or 2

Top deal for spurs but i can't see madrid doing it with Di Maria as a make weight.. I still got a feeling that Bale is playing out of is skin and not generally a work class player. Time will tell

Interesting. It really depends on how much Real are willing to give. Ive seen around (although not reliable sources) that they could be prepared to part with 90 million. So if thats 50million cash, I would say the other 40million is what it would cost for Di maria and Coentrao. Coentrao being worth perhaps 15 mil (they rate marcelo better) and DM maybe 25?

Bale to Real Madrid would be a disaster for Wales, Madrid would put the law down and make sure he doesn't get injured on international duty, they'd make sure he misses friendlies, restrict him in Qualifiers

Re: Real for Bale

Spurs would be fools to say no to Real if the bid is true. I'm getting annoyed though about the whole Bale deal :ayatollah:

What evidence do you have of this?

I think we should put a cheeky bid in for him :ayatollah:

So you pay the most highest ever paid fee for a player(providing they just offer full money) you have the power of Ancelotti and Madrid being the biggest club in World football overpowering the Wales manager Chris Coleman who has done nothing in his managerial career. It's all about image rights, Barcelona got a shit load of money for Neymar's arrival. Madrid are doing the same with Bale

Maybe because their international manager has balls and stands up for himself. If Bale got injured on international duty, Madrid would be furious and limit his national career

Sorry i think you're basing it all on knee jerk emotion. I don't recall Beckham Ronaldo having issues. It wou;ld be a good footballing education for Bale and put Cardiff and Wales on the map.

its not even possible

Don't let that get in the way of a strident opinion.

Re: Real for Bale

Mon Jul 29, 2013 2:30 pm

His availability for international matches would only depend on how his contract is worded.Spurs would be mad not to accept that kind of bid and as we all know 50m does not guarantee a top class player for years to come-just ask liverpool or chelsea.Welshman or not it doesn't mean he's gonna be that good every season.

I agree with this. If Real are offering that much, do the deal - the money would be well spent on another few players to bolster the side and make them more of a top four threat. Even with one or two extra signings and keeping Bale, I can't see Spuds getting any higher than 5th again this season. They're not consistent enough and they're relying on him to win games for them.

We get a % of the fee due to the fact that he's Welsh. :D
