Ticket Rush

Mon Jul 29, 2013 9:26 am

Looking at threads from people and the queues for tickets this morning just wondering where all these fans where the last few seasons when we had plenty of tickets left for all games. You should follow Cardiff no matter what league and not just in the premiership. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

what rubbish - you are talking about 1500 non season ticket holders. The club has always had more than that in it's main fanbase as a walk up crowd let alone members. I think it is more likely that plastics / newcomers would have bought season tickets rather than memberships as they wouldn't have to bother queuing and can guarantee themselves a ticket.

There will be many many regular ccfc fans that will not be able to get a ticket.

Why didnt these so called fans scrumbling for tickets watch us before we reached the premiership

how do you know some of them didnt

i hope people arent going to be complaining all season about this. Its a fact that when teams get more sucsessful, attendances go up, we should be welcoming people who want to support the team, not having a go because they werent there on that cold tuesday in January against Rochdale

becuase most of the time you could get them.

even as recently as 2002 there were only 8000 season ticket holders. Now there's 22000, are you one of those extra bandwagon jumping season ticket holders or have you followed the club since 1899?

I know lots of people that have bought the membership as they can't make it every week but hope to see about 10 home games this season.

It is nice to sell out games and have a bit of excitement.

Rather sweeping statement.

You'll probably find that there a quite a few brand new season ticket holders and those queuing are long time supporters who are now having to fight for a ticket.

No i have watched Cardiff home and away for over 25 years so not a new season ticket holder

The same has been said, year in, year out, for the last twelve years or so. Personally i would welcome ALL new City fans, young & old regardless,,,,no need for elitism at all.

When the CCS capacity is increased to 32K plus, well be looking for a further five of six thousand "new" fans too,,,that should be interesting!

but have you been a season ticket holder since 1899? i guess not probably becuase of your age and that's the case for many a new fan. my son's been going since he was three and is a season ticket holder and goes away he's now 15. my grandad's been going since 1948 but can't make many games a season due to health and money - got him a gold membership this year, he's hoping to go to the spurs game.

how can you judge who is the bigger fan and who deserves a ticket? The reality is you can't so don't make sweeping statements about who should have a ticket and who shouldn't.

I have been a cardiff fan and been watching cardiff for years but due to new work commitments it wasnt worth me getting a season ticket as I wouldnt get my moneys worth so got a gold membership in hope of being able to see at least 10 games and hopefully more and I think there are many more fans like this so its not a case of glory fans in all cases

Because we weren't in the Premier League. I'm a relatively new fan compared to some but it's not that hard to realise. Both ours and Swansea's support is very lightweight/fairweather, hence the fact that rugby is the popular sport, it's just the way the Welsh are, we will be there for success, not there when we're down and out.

What ticket rush ? Just been on e-ticketing and tickets still available for all parts of the ground, which considering its our first match in PL, against the side who won it 2 seasons ago and finished 2nd last season, is quite incredible. I thought they'd all be gone by now when you think that there's only around 2000 available.

And in response to your statement, would you prefer these people not to start supporting us and leave us with a half empty stadium ?

I would have liked them to have supported us when we were a struggling side when the players and club needed support

You are wrong mate, I bet some of these fans have been there the last few seasons, because they cant afford season tickets doesn't mean they don't go regular, anyway who cares if they haven't been before.

They are queing this morning for Chievo tickets not man city tickets :D

Another one of these threads. I swear some people would be happy with just a couple thousand fans and a near empty stadium.

Re: Ticket Rush

Well there must be something wrong with me but i already miss the championship! Like when u move house and you miss your old house even though you know your new house is better? - Will be keepin a close eye on it, a great league. Premier is a great adventure but its never been the be and end all for me. Well not until the jacks went up, then it was personal lol

Everyone's got to start somewhere. I'm also a relatively new City fan because of my age but I'll 100% be supporting us through thick & thin. It's also much better to see more City tops around Queen St than Man Utd ones! :ayatollah:

We're all Bluebirds! :ayatollah:

boring, getting tickets was relatively easy last season to the point where you could buy a ticket on match day. people will rush to get tickets now because they dont want to leave it too late and miss out.

or could always carry on thinking your superior
