Barry Town

Can someone explain their situation? I've not really read into it.

What was all the stuff with the FAW and Do they play in any sort of league system now?

Not too sure how it happened, something to do with the owner withdrawing them from the league last season due to finances. FAW havekicked them and Llanelli out of the leagues leaving them in reality in park football. Barry are appealing and have a court case coming up

The Welsh Premier was small enough as it was, now they've got rid of two of their bigger clubs. Bad decision in terms of Welsh football

Barry and Llanelli had serious money troubles and virtually had to start again...they applied to go into the welsh league lowest division...division three....the FAW refused them entry and told them to start again in local leagues...a very poor standard to be fair basically pub teams play in some of those leagues . The appealed and a meeting was called by the FAW up in mid Wales...unbelievably the meeting that was convened at great expense voted to not discuss the issue and now Barry are taking the FAW to court...there is more to this but that is basically it.

if they are not allowed entry into division 3 then they are essentially playing park football in either the amateur league or local league. i play parks football in RCT league so with 2 promotions i could essentially end up in the same league as barry. ridiculous!

Haha shocking, the glory days for Llan have gone then. Heard a few of the boys are playing for cwm now.

I'm up in Gilfach now so looking for a team to join up here.

It wasn't a financial thing for Barry. The playing side has been funded by the supporters committee for the last 2/3 seasons, whilst the chairman of club Stuart Lovering just focused his efforts on the clubhouse! Before the end of last season for no apparent reason he pulled the club out of the league. The supporters committee have never been given a reason why, especially as they were funding the team. So they've appealed to the FAW to go back into division 1 as they feel Lovering shouldn't have the power to pull them out as he's not funding the team. The FAW have refused this, however I think the matters going to court on August 6/7th?
