What was the game like today? Not seen any feedback on here about the performance of the team how did they do? What formation did we play and how what were players performances like or ratings?

i think theyre all still on the piss mate. i drove so i been back ages. pretty much everyone got a runout. kimbo looked the best, cornelius looked raw and dangerous but a few dodgy balls too, kev gave the new number 2 a run for his money both looked sharp but all in all you were left feeling we still need more. neither campbell or maynard set me on fire but its a friendly what can you say, top day out and amazing support

Spoke to my Cheltenham friends who kept me updated throughout, in her opinion we still need a few more signings and thinks we will struggle without them. She reckons they matche dus in every area throughout but their season starts next weekend and ours in 3 so not a surprising result in my opinion.
She was impressed by Kimbo.
She was also impressed by the support (although less impressed with the flares/smoke bombs!

)

She sounds as if she knows what she is talking about!

Aye, she used to be on the books at the Women's team and her old man is high up there so she's been around football and had exposure to managers, players, board members etc her whole life.
My dad was shocked when she came to see the city (Sheff Wed game) and he had a proper footy conversation with her!

Cheltenham did look decent in fairness but we just were not near our match sharpness by any means. They cause some problems but very limited chances for them their corner was a poor one to concede.
We were stronger in the middle and did dominate more as the game went on but we did lack a cutting edge when kimbo went off and especially without witts aswell. Maynard did play on the right so in fairness to him he was slightly out of position but Campbell did have a goal disallowed for offside which he did finish nicely. All in all some positives but we are missing a few signings and we need to build on our performances before west ham.
Great day out though was some good company!

First half side will be the likely formation Malky will start with....Bellars and Noone out wide; and kimbo whitts in the middle. They played some decent stuff at times. Dominated the play with some lovely passes. Totally made Cheltenham work. Cambell was up front alone. He needed someone alongside him. Defensively, we were vulnerable. Needs addressing before the season begins.
Totally changed in the second half with Maynard and Cornelius leading the attack; and Conway wide out left. Too many attacks were breaking down in the centre of midfield. Cowie, Ralls and Smith were ineffective.
Overall, a fair result for a friendly. Cheltenham gave us a good workout, credit to them.
