I personally will never forgive him for Wales' exit to Russia in the Euro 2004 qualifying play offs - fancy playing Hartson up front by himself, when we had Earnie (who was shit hot at the time) on the bench...

Are you sure he said this?
A Welsh journalist called Roger Hughes said exactly the same thing.
However, you are right, Mark Hughes is a shyte manager.

I think you will find it was Roger Hughes that said"we are not ready"......fine he is entitled to his opinion, but i do hope that if City prove him wrong,he will have the decency to admit in public,he was wrong

I take nothing away from Sparky as a player though - he scored some blinders.
What is it with good players making average managers and vice versa?
Hughes, Robson, Souness, Gullit - all great players but average managers. Fergie, Moyes, Wenger - very average players but highly regarded bosses...

This is the same Roger Hughes who said in August 2012:
"Welsh correspondent Roger Hughes thinks Liverpool star Craig Bellamy is unlikely to be headed home to Cardiff claiming there is no room for him in their team."
The guy hasn't got a clue.

This Roger Hughes sounds like Peter O'Hanaraha'Hanarahan from The Day Today...
