He stumbled turning back and decided to throw his legs up in the air. Id call it very lucky

Yeah, it does look like he stumbled but he still managed to make the block.

I thought it looked like he was going for a diving header block. May be lucky but at least he had the foresight to chuck his legs in the air just in case.
