WIll Vincent Tan learn the lesson form QPR ???

Fri Jul 26, 2013 9:18 pm

I am pretty sure he will have talked to Tony Fernandes, and will understand that this is the time to speculate. If you leave it until January to spend, it is probably to late and the players cost twice as much. Malky has two massive deals on the table, now is the time for VT to back Malky and make sure these two deals go through, if that is what Malky really wants :ayatollah: :malky:

TH splashed out loads on wages and fees on 15 off players, who are passed their best days and looking for their last pay check!

Tan is spending big fees on up and coming talent, which will then make us profit if we sell them, if we stay up!

Too late to edit, but personally, I have nothing but praise for VT, and am very confident both in VT's backing and Malky as the perfect man to use it wisely, can't wait for this season to start.

Just been down the Butchers arms in Rhiwbina, they have confirmed they will have every game live, this will be so handy for the less exciting odd away game :ayatollah:

Fernandes appointed the wrong men.

Warnock was a tactical dinosaur, Hughes is debatable, he did the worst there but still got a good managerial record. Redknapp, less said the better.

I think VT will have learnt though, Malky is a relatively young manager and the foundations are all set, Fernandes barely got to know the managers, VT was there at the start of Malky's reign.

Good point, they seem to respect each other, and I think Malky will get the backing he needs and deserves :ayatollah:

QPR went out and bought players left right and centre. They had a Massive Overhaul of a squad
that had pissed the Championship. They got rid of the nucleus of their side and look where it got them. Thats
why Sams statement was so ill-advised and naive and shows how out of date he is with the game when he said
we need a Massive Rebuild. For Gods sake keep him (and you) away from player purchases lol. If by the end of
today we have managed to secure Capoue and Moreno, that will be Capoue, Moreno, Brayford, Cornelius. I
think we will sign two more players. Six is a pretty average turnover but we will keep the main bulk of last
seasons squad as well. That way, the new players will come in and learn from our current crop about how we
do things rather than getting a whole new team in. QPR signed loads and failed, because they panicked. We
will keep faith in most of those that are already here - and will do well this season

Qpr failed because their manager couldn't manage their team, cardiff gotalky now not dave jones and ive got all my faith in him to get us mid table people shudnt even be thinking it

All good points above.
VT will not make those mistakes and in MM has an astute and financially careful manager.
We need strengthening not overhauling.

I have always thought QPR's problems had their roots in the bungled takeover at the start of the 2011 season when the uncertainty meant they couldn't recruit properly and eventually leading to Warnock's dismissal.

They may have survived that season but the recruitment which followed was all ad hoc and not helped by further changes in management with Harry Redknapp following Mark Hughes.

So IMO the lesson's to learnt is get the recruitment right now and back the manager throughout what is bound to be a very hard season.

tbh qpr brought overpriced gash.stuck with em on big wages now.malky spends like it from his own pocket(good thing).you may get one or two older heads but that,s max.cannot see tan/malky wasting money like hughes did.young and hungry is the way in general

QPR unsettled their entire squad by signing 18 players. As far as I can tell, Malky is only looking to strengthen with four or five players. If he gets that number of quality players in, I'll be a lot more confident, but we're not going down the same route QPR did.
