Hudson down the bay today

Fri Jul 26, 2013 6:02 pm

Having lunch in Zizzi's down the bay today and Huds came and sat on the table next to us with his Mrs and new baby.

Fair play he was looking lean!!

It was not long after the news broke of us looking at this new centre back, but thought if stay quiet about that bit! Haha!

Said hello and all the best for the season and congrats on the baby etc, he said thanks with a smile and his
mrs gave an appreciative smile too.

Have a good season captain!!

Sounds like a decent fella. I remember going back to 2009 when Ipswich and Roy Keane had smashed us in the last game at NP (and of the season) where we missed out on the playoffs on goal difference. I popped to Penarth Tesco's cashpoint after the game, and who should walk up behing me but a certain Mr Ledley - he must have seen my City shirt and thought he was about to get his head ripped off.

I said "unlucky today, eh Joe?" - he sort of laughed a nervous laugh and smiled - must have been embarrasing for the poor lad... ;)

Nice guy but do you honestly think he can cope with the pace of premiership don't think so but that's only my opinion

Kept Suarez quite in the CC final ;) Honestly, I have my doubts but he was awesome last season so deserves a fair shot :ayatollah:

not many CBs have pace, its how they read the game! he's a true professional as well MH, gives his all every game, what more can you want? he had his critics in the DJ years (i was one myself) but he's proved himself!

Suarez's game is all about strength and wriggling through gaps.He hasn't much pace, doesn't need it,which is why Hudson done so well against him in that game.Contrary to popular belief the strikers in the PL aren't that quick,Agbonlahor is but it's the wingers with all the pace.Lennon,Bale,Walcott even Routledge.I think Hudson will do ok,it's the full backs that need to be on their toes.

Exactly, people on here are obsessed by the pace of centre-halves. How many of them have blistering pace? Not many.

Yup which is why I think we need to a new left back as even though Taylor is good going forward he's not the best defender. Strikers are all about movement in the prem and Hudsons best at when the ball is being played in front of him.

Edit: which is why I think Ashley Williams has done so well he's a great reader of the game
