with Malky if its ok for him to visit. He has been made aware in no uncertain terms that team
affairs are NOTHING to do with him. Malky WAS concerned about it all. Iain Moody has already
been told that Sam will have NOTHING to do with recruitment, contract negotiation (phew) or
contact with other Clubs. In effect, our new owner is a ruthless fucker. Come on Sam, i respect
you and value your opinion (to his face) but all the time ensuring Sam was not going to be allowed
to play with the toys. The role is no more than a face saver for Sam and its something he insisted
on if he was going to settle this week for less than half his money. Tan was happy because he really
did want to get this equity deal up and running I'll say no more but Steve
Davies may well be aware of all this too

In fairness Sam has never claimed that his role was nothing other than honorary. He has offered VT free advice and accepts that our ruthless leader is under no obligation to accept it.
I agree his life presidency is nothing more than a sweetener designed to put the Langston issue to bed once and for all.

I'm not suggesting HE did. But over the last week it has felt like people have been keen to make
out he's back here in a kind of Right Hand Man capacity. Like they are best buddies? I suspect Sam
knew the second the deal was signed he was just dressing. He will try to make as dignified an exit
as possible. Most important thing is that the Club has moved on.

There might have been one or two who suggested that although I can't think of anyone.
I agree Sam knows his place and to be honest at his age I doubt very much he would want to get too involved in the day to day running of the club.
However, if you look at his record at Wimbledon you have to conclude he was very savvy in keeping what amounted to a Conference side in the Premiership for several seasons. He is bound to have a wealth of experience (including his own personal mistakes) and there would be no harm in VT seeking his opinion at times.
