Not at all pal. I think its pretty cool the A380 is coming to Cardiff airport. Just goes to show that with the right investment from the Welsh government the next decade could really improve this struggling facility.
I know its not for commercial service only maintenance for BA,but it really shows the potential of the airport over the likes of Bristol.

Fair play, not interested in planes, but you are right the Welsh Goverment investing is brilliant mews and we will make massive improvements for Cardiff.
It's like when Sam first came amd invested, we caught up and passed Bristol City, the rest is history, let's hope this has the same ending :ayatollah:

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner. It is the world's largest passenger airliner; many airports have upgraded their facilities to accommodate it because of its size. Initially named Airbus A3XX, Airbus designed the aircraft to challenge Boeing's monopoly in the large-aircraft market; the A380 made its first flight on 27 April 2005 and began commercial service in October 2007 with Singapore Airlines.

The A380's upper deck extends along the entire length of the fuselage, with a width equivalent to a wide-body aircraft. This gives the A380-800's cabin 478 square metres (5,145.1 sq ft) of floor space; with 49% more floor space than the next-largest airliner, the Boeing 747-8, the cabin provides seating for 525 people in a typical three-class configuration or up to 853 people in all-economy class configurations. The A380-800 has a design range of 15,700 kilometres (8,500 nmi; 9,800 mi), sufficient to fly from New York to Hong Kong, and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h or 560 mph; 490 kn at cruising altitude) and costs £252 miliion.

The airport might have potential, but try getting to it at busy times.
From Cardiff your options are either bottom road through Dinas or top road Culver (nightmare) and Wenvoe or five mile LANE.
From the M4 you can again suffer Culver and crawl single file along port road, or follow a school bus through Pendoylan.
From the west you can go single lane behind a tractor through Llandow or Wick. Complete crap infrastructure for an international airport.

Its not to bad, i live in Pentrebane and its never taken me longer than 30mins from time I leave my house to time I get inside the terminal and that includes a walk from the carpark. Most days can do it in 20.

Also a new bus service will be coming in every 20mins from city centre, not sure how popular it would be mind, i know id never get a bus to start my holiday off.

Defies logic how something that big can take off, never mind fly. Amazing fete of engineering, fairplay. Quite surprised cardiff airport runway can handle a plane as big as that.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Antonov An-225. I've seen the An-124 which is cool but nothing on the 225.
