The £10m striker has told club chiefs he WILL now wear the Toon top carrying the logo of the controversial pay-day lender.

It ends an uneasy stand-off that saw the Senegal international miss Newcastle’s pre-season training camp in Portugal after the Muslim star refused to be seen in the newly-branded kit on religious grounds.

The PFA were called to help find a solution, amid fears Cisse – who has hit 26 goals since arriving 18 months ago from German side Freiburg – had played his last game for the Geordies.

Islam forbids the lending of money for profit, so Cisse hoped to compromise by wearing a blanked-out shirt, or one with a charity logo.

Newcastle refused point blank, insisting their entire squad honour the sponsorship agreement that nets the club around £8m a year.
