Forest Green's chairman, Dale Vince, is a "Green Energy" tycoon who has become noteworthy as the outspoken owner of the Green electricity company Ecotricity.
Vince is a vegan and in February 2011, Forest Green's players were banned from eating red meat for health reasons, and a few weeks later the sale of all red meat products was banned at the club's football ground, leaving only vegetarian options as well as free-range poultry and fish from sustainable stocks.
Vince has also introduced a number of different eco-friendly developments at the club including the installation of solar panels for their ground, the use of a solar powered robot grass mower plus the creation of the world's first organic football pitch.
Also, Vince rebranded Forest Green last season with their home kit changing from black and white stripes to an electric green. I spoke to a few Forest Green fans about their feelings on this and the majority said they were warming to it because they've been given funds to sign players and are currently 3/1 favourites to win the league. It was also a first time I have tried a badger pasty and I still have no clue what was actually inside it, but it tasted very nice!

He's a loony toon but BBC did a piece on him soem months ago and to be honest it was worth a watch. However, if you like their grub even though you don;t know what is in it - then you've spent too many saturdays after city games in caroline street
