Cardiff City are reported to have had a £10m bid accepted by Toulouse for French international midfielder Étienne Capoue.
French sports newspaper L'Equipe has reported that the player is now mulling over a move to the Cardiff City Stadium after his club accepted a bid.
The 25-year-old, who has won five caps for France, was first linked with the Bluebirds on Monday, just weeks after he appeared to be on the verge of a move to big-spending Monaco.
He has also been the subject of interest from Everton and Arsenal, so his signing would be a major coup for Malky Mackay.
The deal would take Cardiff's spending this summer to £18.5m, as they prepare for life in the Premier League.
So far, Danish striker Andreas Cornelius - who made his debut in last night's 4-3 win over Forest Green Rovers - has been the club's only signing.
Capoue is a defensive midfielder, who can also operate in defence, and made his senior debut for France in a friendly against Uruguay in August 2012.
