Cardiff City fans should not worry about Sam Hammam's return to the club, says the chairman of the Welsh side's supporters trust.
Cardiff owner Vincent Tan reached an agreement with Hammam on Monday which saw the settlement of a long-standing debt owed to the club's former chairman.
As part of that arrangement, it was announced Hammam will return to Cardiff with the new title of life president.
Cardiff fans have expressed concerns after Hammam said he believes the side required a “massive overhaul” since his appointment to the position.
Hammam's previous spell at Cardiff saw him accused of taking too active a role in the running of the side.
For Tim Hartley, chairman of the Cardiff City Supporters Trust, these concerns are unfounded.
Speaking exclusively to SportsDirect News, Hartley said: “Hammam has been given the title of life president which does appear to be an honorary role.
"When he was in charge previously it had been rumoured he was closely involved in team selection and tactics but that seems less likely to happen now.”
Hartley also said he echoes the sentiment that more investment is needed in the side if Cardiff are to compete in the Premier League next year.
Following promotion from the Championship Cardiff have brought in only one new face in Danish international striker Andreas Cornelius, who joined for a club record £7.5 million fee from FC Copenhagen in early July.
Hartley said: “Cornelius is the only transfer we've brought in so far and we've since lost out on the signing of Tom Ince.”
“It appears that Mackay has the backing to attract more players however and we do hope to see more signings before the start of the season.”

That leach wouldn't know how to keep his nose out. He loves being the center of attention. I can see him ending up pissing malky and the squad right off as the season goes on, to the point where malky could end up walking
