Tan has referred to Sam as a friend for a while and wanted him involved. Business is business even amongst friends when you're talking these sums.
Isn't it funny how Sam just happened to find someone at the last moment to get involved with the club. That person knew Tan. Tan had the plan to go on but he was a business man. Sam was a footballing man. Loved the passion, the hysteria and being the people's man.
For a while he was loved. Tan rebranded us but he knows deep down he was wrong but admitting it himself would be a blow to him in the business world.
Sam comes in, hated for events by some at the end last time, and tells Tan, being the football man he is 'change them back to blue and you'll be loved. You know what, make them blue, give them the badge I did and we're on to a winner'.
Tan listens to Sams advice. The fans love Sam for convincing Tan to change his mind. The fans love Tan for listening and settling the debt. Both are loved and regarded as heroes as they always wanted and now have a Premier League team they can profit from.
Tan takes a back role, creaming profit and Sam plays the media to a tee.
Might be wrong but I think this was planned to some degree. It all just seems a bit too 'rosy' the way it's gone. All this friends talk and walking in the park and so on.
Pardon the more cynical of us.

I was quite enjoying that until the ' give them the badge I did' part, no, i'd rather keep what we got than that heap of shite.

We won't return to blue under Tan, I do think we will return to blue one day after all Tan won't be here forever. Everyone just needs to get under Malky and the players
