The lack of signings

How on earth can we start to look at ourselves and say " yes I think we can stay up " confidently unless Malky brings in some Premier League quality. The lack of bodies is astonishing. I do believe that the lads that got us there should have a good crack at it but with teams strengthening around us we need to pull our finger out!

No chance while Malky and his recrouting team are in there positions.They have on premiership experience whatsoever and it shows with there lack of signings.All we get from Malky is be patient but we have been patient long enough.

Only time will tell if MM gets it right. The proof will be in our results. To date MM and his team have had nearly 100 days since we gained promotion to identify and move on potential targets. We have 1 signing to date a lot less than many of the other teams in the Premiership. Most clubs have done early business even though MM says this is difficult.

We still have time to bring in 3-5 quality players that we need to be competitive in the Premier League. Let's leave it in MM's hands and see what he comes up with. I hope that we do not buy average players for the sake of it. Onwards and upwards.

A few injuries here and there and we've got a tiny squad with not much strength in depth! It's vital we get bodies in. Yes Malky takes his time and to be fair to him he hasn't made that many bad signings during his time here. But he can't afford to be too studious with his signings. Quality is important of course but if we could go down because of this. We might never get a chance at this again we need to make sure at least on paper we have a chance. At the moment we don't.

That's why we got another 6weeks to make these signings not as if we got a week to go and then were doomed so chill out

Fully agree with the initial Post, it okay having players super fit and chasing every ball on the field but you need real quality in the premier and looking at last season's team we are NOWHERE near the team we need to be. As the days go by and the new season gets close I am really concerned about the lack of new quality players. Fingers crossed that Malky has a few tricks up his sleeve.

We're up shit creek & Malky knows it. He knows that he's got to say something when asked about signings, but how do you come out & tell fans: "I haven't signed anyone because all of my targets have either gone elsewhere or just don't fancy playing for us."
So "have patience" is all he can say.

I do think we need to start being realistic about next season & that 17th and staying up of GD would be an achievement. Stop with inquiries into young French defenders or up and coming Portuguese strikers & buy solid premiership experienced who've proven themselves in the league or old heads who've been around the block and know what it takes to stay up. Good shout. Its great having a blend of youngsters with experience but we are going into the Premier League and you cannot go wrong with some experienced Premier League campaigners who know how to see a game out. They have been there and done it.

ive said with what we got at this moment we will go down, i think the likes of mason. noone,etc need quality players around them. to bring them on. bellamy cant babysit the whole team.

Cal Shep, mate why can't you understand and wake up and see the fact if we don't sign 5/6 quality players soon we're fucked? It's a hard season physically and mentally! we'll go from a winning mentality to a losing one over the season! that's when you need quality players to produce that bit of magic and lift the crowd and players at the moment we don't have that many players who can provide us with confidence! Malky has had loads of time to look into targets!

I am in favour of the way he does his transfers but there's being thorough and there's being too thorough. It's frustrating because we might only get one shot at this and it has to be a bloody good team too stay up. The team doesn't fill me with confidence at the moment, we need to freshen it up, liven it up a bit add some spark, solidity in defence and we'll get everyone involved with CCFC believing we can do a job

The negativity on here sometimes astounds me. Look at last season, most of our signings were done late and I still think we did pretty well.

Everyone's getting a bit nervous and twitchy (myself including) but I still remain confident that Malky will get the players required in and he's the man to lead us forward.
