Problems Closing Deals?

Sun Jul 21, 2013 8:42 am

It appears from various sources (Portugese Press) that Stoke are now in for Oliveira.

It is clearly dog eat dog in the transfer market and it seems harder to get players in later on. Ideally it would have been nice to have a few in at the start of the window.

We seemed to have been linked to Oliveira for a while and a deal has still not be finalised. Do we have problems closing deals down? If the links are true then clearly we may lose out on yet another target.

its honestly not a f*cking joke any more one signing in the whole transfer market  we better have a great team without any signings otherwise we r fucked. with the lack of signings as you can tell i am very pissed off bout it

If there is a problem it's because when other clubs come in they are more attractive prospects since we are relegation favourites. It's a tricky position to be in as we have to find the balance between going for quality players but those who are willing to come to us.

At championship level we were top of the tree in terms of attracting players, now we are towards the bottom until we prove ourselves.

Agree, clearly agents are stirring up interest for their players. I suppose it's a case of trying to get a player to sign on the dotted line at the earliest opportunity rather than letting the matter drag on. SSN now reporting the facts that the player is or going to speak to Stoke. If we lose out then move on.

We might not even be in for him, could be his agent just drumming up interest
