Up to their old tricks in their friendly against Brentford, how is it they are immune from the rules we all have to follow? they should be thrown out of football!

Same old Celtic. They are always ones to condem this type of behaviour, but they do it at most home games.

Dont like Rangers and hate Celtic. I used to have a soft spot for them but now hate there pathetic fans .

so so glad we played rangers last weekend and not celtic. the atmosphere would have been so different. . vile behaviour.

i would have loved it if Rangers had been allowed to join the english leagues like we are, Celtic left to rot in the SPL. Not all their fans are bad as i know a few but way to many are.....

Club was founded by Irishmen who wanted a club like Hibernian in the west.
They even adopted the Hibernian Colours.
Hibs have certain Elements (like all clubs) but majority of fans are friendly family types.
Cannot say that about Celtic, and whilst you shouldn't judge the entire club based on a certain few hundred fans,the fact that the club does absolutely nothing to prevent these fans representing the club does leave many with no other option but to hate them.

That being said match days at Parkhead are great athmospheres,as are Ibrox.
But my overall opinion is the UK and Scotland in particular would be better off if neither club was included.

The fact is these songs start up in the first place. YES, City fans used to sing Yorkshire Ripper songs
and Shipman etc, but we have moved on from those times, all Clubs have. The majority of the
Celtic fanbase are obviously not bothered enough about these vile chants to stop them. In this case
they most definitely are all guilty by association

Last year it was the huge "No blood stained poppys on our hoops" banner displayed by the Green Brigade as well as anti-British & pro-IRA singing. Celtic vowed to find and ban every one of those fans with the banner (all s/t holders btw). We're still waiting....

Its about time we started removing passports from people, and deporting them to their ancestral homes, probably in accordance with what would seem to be their wishes.

I don't particularly like Rangers or Celtic, and a lot of what has been said has been true, and a lot of times I find myself disgusted at the actions of Celtic fans, but on this occasion it appears that the chanting of a certain song has been completely made up and is not true. I've had a look at Brentford forums and other stuff and they deny hearing anything, Moose from talksport who Gavin mentioned also said he heard about the trouble/smoke bombs but not the chant. Don't get me wrong I am not saying they are innocent or they should be free of punishment, they shouldn't.

first of all, been to 2 preseason Celtic-games last season, and funny enough never heard anything like it. Celtic played at City twice in the past few seasons, again nothing...

Any Rigby songs are purely disgusting, I think we all agree on that. And I asked a Celtic friend of mine (from Glasgow) what he says, IF the rumors are true and there were Rigby chats at the game. His response was (quote): "fvcking terrible, we got some arseholes amongst our fans, too"

A few know how I feel bout the Shipman song, that I got shit from City fans cos I had a go at some morons who thought it was funny gloryfying a murderer (almost got kicked out of the ground once), not many wanted to join me then. The vast majority stayed silent...

It died down now (thank God), but we are still seen by the vast majority of English clubs, as the moronic hooligan brigade from Cardiff, tarring us all with the same brush. Same goes for a few on here, when they talk bout Celtic (many with their Rangers-tinted glasses)...

Celtic sing some political songs, that's right. Unlike Rangers, who sing songs glorifying butchering of Catholics ("up to our knees in Fenian blood") or tragedies like the Irish Famine. I don't like any of it, I think there's no place in football for that.

Altho I think Celtic should only concentrate on football related songs, the pro -IRA songs are not gloryfying the Provos. That's not meant as an excuse, I dont like those either, BUT, If you know theses songs (and I do), they are trad. Irish Folk songs about the (old) IRA, who fought in the 1916 Easter rising and the Irish war of independence, which lead to the Irish Freestate in 1921. Big difference there, as the old IRA split in the early 70s into IRA and Provisionals (which most just refer to as 'IRA' today).

Finally, as I said: there shouldnt be politics or religion in football. Unf. there is. You get sick basterds everywhere, at every club, no matter if it's Celtic, Rangers or Cardiff City. Just don't shut your eyes and ears and be blind and deaf on the side where you stand.

While we're at it... ship all people with an Anglo-Saxon background back to Germany, all Asians back to Asia, the Blacks to Africa ad the ones with a nordic background back to Scandinavia.
